Important comment for installation of this mod. 1. Find a core folder where you installed the game 2. Name of this folder can be "Divinity Original Sin2" OR "Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition". I have second variant btw. 3. If your game folder name is "Divinity Original Sin2", you need use recommendation of mod's author. 4. BUT! If your game folder name is "Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition", then you need open it, found folder Data and extract in it all content on the way Public\Game\GUI\fonts from the archive. 5. At the end you need get this way: \Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Eition\Data\Public\Game\GUI\fonts. So folder "DefED" may present ONLY if your common game folder named as "Divinity Original Sin2".
The default font you've chosen for this mod is beautiful man, it's perfect, just what this game needed. The regular font the game comes with just leaves a lot to desire. It's clean and all but it's MUCH easier on the eyes with your mod and also just very aesthetically pleasing, just looks a lot better. I don't like squinting at skinny text characters anywhere on the internet period, everything just looks better with bolder text. I can't live without your mod now, great job man.
BUT the increased font size introduces one particularly annoying bug with item description comparing. If your equipped item has a description so long, with so many stats that some of the tooltip leaves the screen, it will cause any other equipment you're comparing it to to also leave the screen because the game wants to align the two item descriptions properly. So as a result you get common equipment descriptions that you want to compare your equipped item to almost completely gone from the screen. This only happens with equipment you have equipped just too many stats to fit the screen with the increased font size. So the solution seems to be decreasing the font size just a bit which I'm about to do now.
Still it's a great mod, just might want to let people know about that bug with larger item descriptions and equipment comparing, not a bug of your mod though, it's the game just not being able to handle the increased font size when the player has an already long equipment description.
You should try to put this on the steam workshop so it gets more exposure man, more people need to know about this mod. This mod is a MUST for every player.
P.S: It looks like you don't even need to use the Norbyte Extractor Tool for those that just want to lower the font size but like the boldness to fix the item description comparison bug for those with very long item descriptions. You can just get fontforge then all you need is to follow the font scaling instructions by LaughingLeader on github which unnunamed has shared on the description tab for this mod. After following those font scaling steps just close all the fontforge windows, no need to save as anything. 75% scaling seems to be the sweet spot (for me at least for now) to fit those items with very long item descriptions, lots of stat bonuses, slots, etc to prevent equipment you're comparing to from leaving the screen almost completely. But if you're trying to change the font completely to a totally different type of font and other major changes to the font then you probably need to follow the extraction steps too but I'm no expert with font editing for DOS2.
Works fine for me on Steam Deck for DOS 2 Def Ed and DOS 1 Enhanced Ed. Screws up the layout here and there a little, and is less elegant -- but so much more readable. Great thanks!
It works perfectly on Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition, this way i can have a tiny UI with a big Text Font. Thanks! I just move the "Public" Folder inside the "Data" Folder.
