Somewhere between 06APR and 15APR, Toggle Sprint stopped working for me. Desperate, I unsubscribed from all mods in the Steam Workshop, backed up all the PAKs in my ...Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\Mods folder and deleted them. That finally cleared out all mods in the game itself, after which (a reboot, just for good measure) I reinstalled using the most recent file (5.91MB file ToggleSprint-v2.4.2.0-95-2-4-2-0). Re-entering DOS2, enabling only ToggleSprint, and loading my most recent Quicksave however only allows a toggle on/off within skills-- no book appears in my inventory and no way to flip through 50%, 100%, 200% speed options. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks, this is by far the most valuable mod in the game! ... Murphy's Law strikes again. No sooner do I post asking for help when the book in question magically appears in my Inventory's Miscellaneous tab for my most recent save (so I haven't lost two weeks of gaming, yay?)
Absolutely useful mod. Thanks for facilitating my time being better spent on content rather than traveling. Super easy to use and I needed this so I can maximize my time on the computer. Thanks a LOT!
Every time i load a game, if a character didnt have a book in its inventory(if i transfered them all to on char or left them in a crate) a new book spawns. Isnt it enough to have one book per party?
Three new speed settings were added, as well as a settings book to configure the party's sprinting speed and the auto-sprint behavior. Note: the "Too Fast (200%)" speed is just what it says - You may notice some odd clipping as you fly up stairs at the speed of light.
Update: For those of you that updated to 2.4.0 with sprinting active, you may have encountered a bug where sprinting remains permanently active. This is a bug with the DOS2 engine (sometimes occurs when the data for an existing status is changed).
Unfortunately, that bugged status can't be removed with the methods provided (literally RemoveStatus), so you'll have to roll back to a previous save and update to 2.4.1. I've taken steps in the 2.4.1 update to make it compatible with older saves, so the old sprinting status should be able to be removed (either by toggling sprint off or using the new command in the settings book).
For those curious, what I did to avoid this bug is I rolled back the default sprinting status to its old version, and made the new "default" a separate status. So when you initially load in on an existing save, it should quietly remove the old status and active the new one. I tested this on my own save that bugged out, so hopefully this should work for everyone else.
I tried the new version of this mod for the latest patch for this game and played a new game, and sadly there is still no toggle sprint?? Now the toggle sprint worked before on my last playthrough before the patch, so I know previous sprint mods worked. =(
Nevermind, found out why after some investigating that there was old files from a previous version of the sprint mod that made it conflict and cause it not to work on a new game.
Once I deleted it everything was fine, so yup it all works fine now. ^___^
That should do it, but I'm not sure if it's safe to do so and load an existing save with the files gone - the game is likely looking for assets that no longer exist.
Hi there, the loose version isn't working on existing saves for me. The ability isn't showing up. I've tried saving and reloading. This is my first and only mod so far. I've placed both the Mods and Public folder inside Data. I do get the Warning message in the main menu. I've tested versions 1.4, 2.2 and 2.3. It works on a new game though.
You probably need a way to force your story to rebuild - Toggle Sprint's functionality exists as a story script, and normally when adding a new mod and loading an existing save, DOS2 will rebuild the story to include the new additions. I'm not sure if this triggers the same way with a loose mod.
One way to tell is if you load an existing save, and it suddenly takes way longer to load, then that's how you know it's rebuilding the story.
Toggle Sprint listens for when a save game is loaded and adds the ability then (if the player doesn't have it). So, seeing as this isn't working for you, I think it's safe to say that your story hasn't been rebuilt. I'm not sure how you could force it to rebuild in loose form.
You could try the old 1.3 version, which was a non-story mod, though support for that version isn't active any longer.
I'd tried editing some other values in data.txt like you mentioned but I don't seem to see a change in game. Would I just need to edit the data file and move it to the appropriate folder?
Some of the changes may be unused, or may not be completely obvious. But yes, placing the Data.txt file at in Data\Public\Shared\Stats\Generated\Data\Data.txt should suffice for overriding the base game's Data.txt.
I believe the NumStarting- values are superseded by the preset files, which specify the number of starting points for each preset.
I'm not sure what files that mod adds, but if it overrides the story, it may be incompatible. Your best bet is to probably backup your Mods and Public folder, and then see if merging them asks if you want to replace any files.
OK, I did merge them and nothing was overwritten. I was only concerned because there are similar txt files (for example potion.txt) but neither are named exactly the same. Both seem to be working fine in game. Thanks for all your help.
Oh FYI I noticed your data.txt upload may be out of date now. I compared yours to an unpacked version and I believe there are some small changes.

+1 Kudos to you! =D
