The mod isn't actually required anymore since the last update added options to allow or disallow specific or all items to be automatically added to your hotbar.
If you could tell me what part isn't clear then I'll see about changing it but I'm usually very concise with instructions so...
For people with GoG version - it shouldn't matter. The structure of the game will remain the same.
If the game is crashing you've either installed it wrong or have installed another mod that's causing it to crash. The files changed here are not the type that should cause game crashes.
Unless they add more items to the game this mod is futureproof.
It should also work for gamemaster mode as the files changed are in the 'shared' folder which is essentially the asset folder that all parts of the game should use.
It MAY also affect arena.
I will copy and paste the instructions in the readme here:
To install: Copy the Public folder into your Data folder found here: ...steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\Data
To uninstall simply delete the public folder.
If these instructions are difficult to follow, don't install it.
Also, it will not show up as a mod. Don't look for it there. Load up a new game and you'll see it just works
got about 13 hours into the game and now the mod suddenly doesnt work. i uninstalled and reinstalled several times, even tried the PAK version. still nothing. no idea why or how to fix D:
Unfortunately, it seems that this mod has started to misbehave. I installed it and it was working fine (beautifully, in fact) while I was just running solo. When I had a couple of friends join me, they kept crashing. We began fiddling with mods and loads until we attempted to begin a game with no mods at all. They still crashed immediately upon joining. I deleted the files added by this mod and they were able to join immediately, even with other new mods activated.
I'm using GOG and both my friends are using Steam versions. One connects by LAN and the other by direct connect.
Works fine for me. This is actually something I'd asked Larian for during Early Access, but I guess they didn't think anyone wanted it. #2 mod on D:OS2 Nexus. Huh. Makes you think people maybe wanted that feature after all.
I'd consider this mod a must-have for people using a gamepad. Constantly having to manage your skillbars with a gamepad is annoying as hell.
thanks for this. the pak file works with the gog version.
regardless of Xzodia claims, there are quite a few posts stating that this mod doesn't work with the gog version. i guess we're all simple peons that can't read and follow directions.
"If these instructions are difficult to follow, don't install it."
*scratches head* So I go into steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\Data and put it in the public folder... then when I start the game I get an error.
Xzodia's version of the mod works with the GoG version, at least for me. Just make sure the Potions.txt and Objects.txt are in your Divinity Original Sin 2\Data\Public\Shared\Stats\Generated\Data folder, and you're good to go. Can't edit to get rid of the smiley faces, but those are D's.
GSmog - yes, that error is normal. That's because these files basically 'overwrite' the core game files with the new values. It doesn't recognize it as a standard 'mod' that you can turn on and off, since it isn't a PAK file, but this is normal. That's also why it mentions that you can't play multiplayer with it. If you're okay with that, then it should work just fine.
This is an poor attempt to turn Tidy Skillbars, into a PAK mod, called "Tidy Skillbars - GOG version" Never mind the fact there's no such thing as a GOG mod, it's a badly made PAK mod.
Tidy Skillbars is a Public/shared mod made correctly. Which means though it only changes 5 entries, it contains the full contents of Object.txt, and Potion.txt It completely replaces the vanilla versions of those two files, as is required in the shared folder.
Obviously only one such file can exist, and any attempts to add another, will simply replace the changes of Tidy Skillbars with Vanilla edits. If more than one Public/shared mod changes those files, they need manually merging, to ensure all the changes are applied This is the downside of the method Tidyy Skillbars uses.
AS a GOG user I have no issues using Tidy Skillbars. I'm pretty sure those having such issues, are due to it's changes beinfg overridden by another mod.
Probenco has simply put the entire files from Tidy Skillbars into a PAK mod. Which means depending on Load Order, it will override all other mods that change, anything in Object.txt, and Potion.txt Object Text changes a lot of stuff, including all types of Arrows, Grenades, and Scrolls, each with separate entries, as well as the generic ones for the "affect all of this type" entries. The generic entries are what Tidy Skillbars actually edits.
The correct method to make a PAK mod for these changes is to use the Override method, but only use the five entries altered. I have made such a mod from scratch, using the mod tools. It works just fine, but it's currentlly private.
Though technically it's not a copy of Tidy Skillbars, it still makes the same 5 simple changes. So I won't Publish it without Rykari and/or Xzodia's permission. Even if I do, I wouldn't name it Tidy Skillbars, unless it's being added to this mod, as an optional file.
@ Tipman 1) Curtesy, and consideration, as Rykari and/or Xzodia stated he would be making a PAK version, but hasn't yet done. 2} So you don't have to manually merge other Public Shared mods and/or poorly made PAK mods that include full Potion.txt, or Object, txt files. 3) Mainly to explain what is wrong with ProBenco's PAK mod, which is the post I was replying to, and explain how it should be done.
I made my override mod to make sure I was correct first, before posting on the subject. I tried a derived mod, and Override with just the single edits included, but they didn't work I had to save the entire line, from the Stats editor, as an override, to get it to work.
This mod was redone by me in five minutes, I do not understand why it is so hard to do this and upload. Those who need can download here (correct version) - http://www.mediafire.com/file/aqrrr4qbb435xto/Tidy_Skillbars_mods_frendly.rar
Who said it was hard to do? Nobody in this thread said it was difficult The basic Override is simple to do, just like you have done.
My replies have mostly been about explaining what's wrong with using the full contents of a Stat text file in a PAK mod. Instead of making such a simple override, which I just as quickly made, simply to confirm what I was posting. Plus how there's no such thing as a GOG version, as ProBenco's upload implies.

For those like me who would appreciate some clarity on where to install their mods, the correct install location for GoG users is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Divinity - Original Sin 2\Data
I'm using GOG and both my friends are using Steam versions. One connects by LAN and the other by direct connect.
This mod is something the developers should add into the game (maybe even as an on/off button).
Thanks a lot!

Hope it works and help!
Do not overwrite the pak files. It's a bag of cats

2) if this works why bother with yours anyway
