Q:How to know whether this plugin still works for new game version? A:Check the log file Achievements.log in Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\NativeModLogs\ folder. If every line is shown as "(XXX) patched sucessfully..." then this plugin still works for new game version.
confirming script extender works in july 2024. I installed it manually by just placing the DXGI.dll file into my Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\bin folder
As others have posted, doesn't work, found that out the hard way... funny enough, Achievements.log will claim it works, but it doesn't. So thanks for including better in game indicator, I guess? :-D
Anyway, to not poke too much at author who I am sure had good intentions. Though please do update description, it really is unpleasant surprise to learn it the hard way.
I guess I will go and try Norbyte's Script Extender: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2031669903 So hopefully that one will work.
Checking integrity will just undo the archivement mod, because it'll restore bink2w64.dll to the unmodified original. So, no, that doesn't help.
No, this mod is broken and doesn't work with the current definite edition. At least no consistently. With the way some people are sometimes reporting success, it looks to me like there's something more inconsistent going on; maybe a race condition somewhere, or a missed branch.
Okay, yeah, what *does* work is the script extender + the extra JSON file with EnableAchievements set to true. But only if this mod here is *not* enabled (and checking integrity effectively disables this mod here).
So, in summary: this mod here is broken. Doesn't work. It's also not necessary: instead, just install the script extender and create the JSON file as described here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2031669903 . Then, achievos work.
Checking integrity of files essentially uninstalls all weird files and reinstalls the original files of the game, basically it just resets all game files so yes, this mod here gets erased.
Just coming in to say that it's not working for me with the Definitive edition, properly installed, and with the file correctly showing that it was patched. If others are having this issue, you are not alone.
I can confirm this too, it's not working for DE. I reinstalled and made sure the patch is working by checking the log file too everything says (xxx) patched successfully.

You just need https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2031669903 (script extender).
To reiterate:
Install Script Extender.
DO NOT install Achivement Mod.
Works as of 2024-April-07
and the, "achievements.dll" ?
