How can i make it so i have maxed stats and talent at character creator? i tried to modify the pak files to put 1000 points in each but when i try to compress back the file into pak with the game pak converer it does't show up on addons
I'm not sure why you guys can not get it to work, but for those interested in DE versions of this mod, I uploaded them on my mod https://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2/mods/131?tab=files and to Mwulf, if and when you read this, I have no intention of "stealing" your mod, once you update yours, or not, since its up to you. just shoot me a message on steam "[BC] Ere376" or on discord "Ere376#5753" and I will remove my versions. and I hope you can understand and forgive me for uploading some non official versions!
Usually it's because folks either fail to activate the mod in-game, or have another mod active that modifies the class presets.
Anyway, Ere376, thanks for that! I saw a thread on Reddit about how to modify DOS2 modes for DE compatibility, but I decided to wait for the Editor just to be certain everything is works properly. I've gone ahead and included your modified PAKs in the new (2.9) version of my mod here at the Nexus, and have updated the readme accordingly. I would like you to remove the other versions, simply because I want to keep the number of "sources" for my mod as small as possible (the current 3 locations are already plenty!). Maybe it's not as bad with mods, but I've written some translation walkthroughs for games in the past, which have been stolen by various sites, and even years later I'll get emails from people demanding to know why the stolen version isn't up-to-date.
Ultimately once the editor hits I'll be remaking the PAKs for everything w/ updated icons and whatnot, the question is: should I update the savegames? Does anyone really care about those?
Hey, sorry I didn't realize you had replied here! I removed the versions from my mod on "divinityoriginalsin2" nexus page, and from what I see from the new post above mine here, you must of grabbed my broken version of auspicious beginnings! I am so sorry about that, when making both of them I only tested Lucky break, and out of my laziness birthed this whole problem!
On the new "divinityoriginalsin2definitiveedition" nexus page I uploaded the working version of Auspicious beginning, this time using the old Auspicious beginning as the template, and knowing for sure it works! Hope this helps! BTW you should probably make a new mod page there, since people will be looking there from now on!
As for the whole reddit page explaining how to do it, I wish I had gone and looked at that, before painstakingly ripping apart old mods and comparing them to the new ones XD.
Sorry it took so long to reply, I wasn't sure how active you are, so I was just waiting for a steam or discord message haha, I'll look here for the next reply a little more often then 3 days. But same as before just let me know when to take down my fixed version of auspicious beginnings! https://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2definitiveedition/mods/30
No worries. Now that the editors up, I'm updating and testing everything. Pretty sure it's all back to 100% now. As for communicating... yeah, I have no idea what method is best. I get a notification of every comment on Steam, so that's a good way to get my attention, but I don't think other people get notifications when I reply to them via Steam, so... yeah. No clue what's best.
yeah, I know what you mean. And I saw the new engine update, I may actually take a crack at it later, and add my mod to the workshop. my version of AB is now gone, and hope things go well for you!
I'm sorry to hear that. However, the mod -does- work, if you can't get it to work it's most likely because you either forgot to activate it in the in-game menu, or have another mod activated that affects the class preset files.
Sorry but there's something wrong, I have followed carefully the installation instructions, activated the mod and the game crashed when trying to load the character creation screen. Other than your mod I only have Party Size Evolved, I don't think that touches class presets, does it? Oh, and clean elves bodies.
New version 3.0 tested and working. Clean Elven Bodies shouldn't affect this, nor should party size evolved, but ultimately -any- mod can cause problems if the author is lazy or forgetful and just leaves the vanilla preset files in the PAK.
Attempting to start a new game with this mod enabled just makes my game close during the loading screen for character creation, even if this is the only mod enabled. Anyone know why?
Ah, that would be a my bad. my first release of the DE versions (the ones Mwulf grabbed) I hadn't actually tested out (I tested lucky break, but not auspicious beginning) so I had to fix it. Mwulf was not aware of the issue when he grabbed it from me.
When making his updated mods, I used Lucky break as the template for both of them, and that meant that despite having 4 starting talent points in auspicious beginnings 2 were not being used, and it would cause the crash/hiding those classes.
Hey Ere376, you have nothing to apologize about. You and Mwulf are putting your time to create something that the rest of us enjoy for free, so thanks.
Thank you for the kind words, but I am sorry for what had happened, I should of tested both mods before half a*sed uploading them. Now it looks bad on Mwulfs behalf, since he trusted my versions and put them up here. so thanks to my laziness I have damaged both our reputations as "modders", "coders", and "content creators".
And sure this may be an overstatement on a small mod for a game that is only somewhat popular, but I believe that if you are going to do something, make sure its the best you can do.Plus there are still a handful of people I have now inconvenienced, and that isn't something I want to be doing.
I was just about to post this same thing, glad I read this haha. Noticed only modded classes were active and not the games original ones, that was the start of the problem haha, then my game would crash before character creation and noticed that Lucky Break and Auspicious were the problems. Guessing the issue hasnt been fixed and uploaded yet?
This isnt me trying to rush anything, I'm just curious is all.
I am so sorry for the inconvenience for now I have a fixed version on my mod page, it was only yestersday that I posted to mwulf, so give him some time. this was entirely on me.

Love your mod! Everything works perfectly with gog version :)
I don't want to bother you with requests, but if you'll ever find yourself working on an update, maybe it would be possible to increase the number of available character tags? Three would be just perfect - one more extra tag for non-origin characters ^^
In the vanilla game, during character creation, the presets appear in alphabetical order when you're browsing through them from left to right. The Battlemage being the first and the Wizard being the last. This mod seems to change it so that the Witch appears last, and the Wizard second to last. I know it has absolutely no effect on anything, but I happened to notice that, and I'm curious as to why that is.
Anyway, I really love this mod. I'm new to Divinity modding, and the .PAK installation works flawlessly. I think it's great that there's a load order manager built into the game. This mod seems to be great for solo playthroughs, which I find to be the most fun. I also really appreciate it when modders present their mods in such a clean and concise fashion.
Also, out of all the current options, I find that this mod deals with the buffing of player characters in the most sensible and effective manner. I like that you're given a reasonable amount of extra points during character creation. I've seen other mods change the frequency of ability/talent points gained during leveling, but I'm not a big fan of that. Not only does this mod succeed in giving the player more power initially, but it also has the added benefit of being really good for actual role-playing. I think it makes sense for my character, who is in his 20s or 30s, to be actually good at something right from the start without having to gain experience. My character has the "Soldier" tag, so, to me, it makes sense that he'd be better than average when it comes to Warfare.
But enough of my rambling, you get the idea. I just wanted to express how much I appreciate this mod. Thank you, sir!

Anyway, I've no clue how anything in the mod could possibly alter the sorting. That's nuts.
