UPDATE: Changed the mod to be script based rather than use character presets. Should now be totally compatible with everything, and works on existing saves.
WARNING: If you already have the talent for free from a previous version of the mod you will get another free talent point. If you don't want that simply disable the the mod (or don't update to the new version) for the remainder of that playthrough (you will not lose Pet Pal).
Very strange. Despite it not being compatible with the current definitive version, I still tried it anyway. It didn't work at first, but once I escaped Fort Joy and had the first chance to access the mirror (to alter stats) on the ship; every character that clicked the mirror, suddenly had "pet pal".
Funny how some people can't get it to work yet I can't get it to STOP working, i disabled it and removed the mod manually and yet no matter what I do if I start a new game, there's the free pet pal... So now i guess i have to reinstall the entire game because there doesn't seem to be any mention anywhere on how to fix it. really annoying. Going to avoid in the future that's for sure.
Quick question. I'm not wanting to mod my first play through, but I did want to manually make a change (like adding a talent point, for example) to the save file. I've dabbled in that already, and I assume the script here performs similarly. Would you be willing to share what changes the script makes?
