I did not update to the latest version on one of my PCs, so this mod works fine, however, with the up to date version @ArsDino did a great job of explaining exactly what you needed to do in very simple terms. Thank you.
However, for people that cannot seem to get this mod to work at all, you can edit your files to give you nearly any stats you want, without needing any mods, so this is for you. Here is a detailed video that gives you step by step instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4DUFnV6uyQ
I tried downloading the new bepin IL2 6.0.0 version, ran the game as admin, followed most of the instructions from the comments, like the one saying to change this:
[UnityDoorstop] # Specifies whether assembly executing is enabled enabled=true
and change the enabled from true to false, but I still can't use the mod. This is what the most current preloader says
System.MissingMethodException: string[] string.Split(char,System.StringSplitOptions) at BepInEx.IL2CPP.DoorstopEntrypoint.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00017] in <e9997477cd8143c9a348224def0a337e>:0
Anyone got a solution? It doesn't work, as in when I ran the game and pressed X, no mod menu came up.
How to make this work for the latest update 27/11/2024 (Works for me at least, steam version)
0. Make sure you have clean game files (no mod files etc.) 1. Go to game install folder 2. Right click on 'disco.exe' > properties > compatibility > CHECK 'Run this as administrator > Apply, OK 3. Download this mod > Copy&Paste the files to 'Disco Elysium' folder 4. Launch game, load save and press X 5. Profit
For anybody else, note that it does take a little while to launch, just give it some time after clicking play on steam (and make sure you click yes to the UAC popup).
This worked for me, I'm on windows 11 and ofc they removed the damn admin access option, 1) type "Run programs made for previous versions of windows" 2) then run the program compatibility troubleshooter 3) click "not listed" after it scans and doesn't find any issues 4) Now point it to your "disco.exe" wherever you have your game file is located. 5) Next click "Troubleshoot program" 6) Final step!: click the checkbox next to "This program requires additional permissions" TY microsoft
with this mod, all the checks during the tribunal scene are failing i can open the console with X... i can modify all other settings, i can set the check to PASS/FAIL although it is like the game recoginzes this is installed and makes all checks fail during that scene any ideas ?
Mod not working following all of the instructions from other comments. Getting this error in the preloader log: Could not load file or assembly 'Il2Cppmscorlib, Version=3.7.1.6, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' Running the GOG version. Tried running it on a 10 month old version as well.
update: Never mind, it's on me. Tried running it with the latest version of BepInex pre .2 and it gave me a more robust error message. It was because I was blocking the game from connecting to the internet. After running it once without blocking the game from connecting to the internet, the mod works. And also found out the mod works as is, without any of the additional steps stated in other comments. Thanks for the helpful mod.
