The game somehow resets the settings as soon as you start it. The "Press to Bury" setting always reverts to "Mouse0" (cfg file saved), which no longer works.
Hmm, I can't reproduce, it's working fine for me. I changed the use key to U and it's all good. Are you certain you are changing the config file with the game closed, changing the correct line (not the lines starting with #), and saving?

I probably need stronger glasses after all... I made a terrible mistake in the lines and feel kinda stupid. o.O
