This is brilliant! Thank you very much! It is super easy to use, and now the character feels much more "me". What's most important: Nokia and her don't look like sisters anymore.
Thank you for sharing your work! I am still figuring out how to mod the game. Making this must have taken a lot of work and you're generous for sharing with other players. Cheers!
I'm editing the files that are being provided by the editor but whenever I rename them from .dds or .png to .img and load the mod, this is what I end up getting [
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here- I'm editing the face and the hair files. Is there any export settings I should be using?
I'm gonna note that I'm using GIMP because I don't have the money to pay for photoshop and pirating it is too much a pain.
Heyo! Could you explain the procedure a bit more detailed, i struggle to get it edited? Also using gimp, i managed to find the files (parts, outfithair, original, original), edit em and then export it as .dds thx to your reply. But then what? I cant save it or rename as img, and like this no changes show up in the editor nor ingame (dont even get a result like your pic). Do i need a converter addon or smth? Any idea what im missing? :s
EDIT: Figured it out. Yes they have to be img files and the problem was a classic Windows troll: "By default, Windows hides file extensions. In order to change them, you must first unhide file extension to make them visible so they can be changed. Then you can change it."
I'm not sure if you're still doing anything with this mod, but I do have a question. You mentioned it would be easy to change up what the colors and everything looked like by editing the image files in photoshop or something like it. I tried doing that, and it appears correct in the character editor, but in game it shows what the colors were originally in the editor. Do you have any suggestions on how I can change that, or am I just sol on that? It's fine if I am, but just wanted to check with you first. Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully respond to this.
To edit them in Photoshop, you'll need to temporarily rename them from .img files to .dds files, and depending on your Photoshop version, you may need a plugin installed to enable .dds compatibility.
This mod makes playing the game bearable. I don't know who decided that hot red, bright yellow, light blue and black go together. Ronald McDonald? Thank you for making this! Using the stark white hair color in my game appears more like a dark gray unfortunately, so I've been using light gray instead. Overall really good mod though!
Hey! Not sure if you're still maintaining this mod, but - do you have any idea why the default avatar turns black after applying the mod (and any other outfits remain unchanged)? I've done all of the steps correctly, complete with running the mod manager as admin.

right click -> 7zip -> Add to "ProtagColours.zip"
Then I just dragged that over to the mod manager and it worked no problem.
