I also checked the code and there should be no way this mod is able to do what you are describing. Make sure you're not using another mod that modifies those items.
Ah, thanks for that clarification! D2R ignores colors before the "[ms]" / "[fs]" tokens that can show up in certain localizations (no idea why), which this mod wasn't accounting for when preserving the original localized name.
It's been quite some time, but I may have found the potential cause of the problem. In the case of sapphire, ruby, emerald, and diamond (item codes gsb, gsg, gsr, gsw), they are located in the item-nameaffixes.json file, unlike all the other gems, which are in the item-name.json file.
This is the state in the original D2R itself, and I couldn't confirm whether this issue exists only on specific localizations (mine was set to kor).
is there anyway to JUST color the Gems , instead of also changing the displayed name ? looking for a mod that JUST colors gems on ground to make it more easy to see on ground . without modifying the names .
looking though the code for your mod trying to figure it out .

This should be fixed in v1.3 (https://github.com/olegbl/d2rmm.mods/commit/33faf969162e0c1076ac771dab8ac4f1e7075c88).
