What's new in ver 1.1? - There was a small mistake in the initial upload that the modified portrait image for Bard class was not displayed proerply in Hellfire expansion. Fixed. - Added an addon file, in which medium armor look replaces thin-looking heavy armor look. Should be installed after installing the main files.
Sorry, for the late replay. I'm quite busy lately. Diablo 1 has been uninstalled a long time ago. So can't do it. Don't even have enough to play games. Sorry brother!
Yes, it's not an impossible task. However, there are some problems here:
1. All heroes's animations settings are slightly different from each other. For example, the number and the size of warrior's animation frames (they are 2D sprites) are slightly different from other hero-classes's counterpart animation frames. 2. Monster's animation frames has more deviation from heroes's animation frames. 3. To avoid CTDs in town or graphical glitches in dungeons, modders need to adjust the number and the size of the monster animation frame carelly to match heroes's animation frame. 4. Diablo 1 developer used pcx image file as the default image format in the game. This is quite old image format and is not used these days.
All these processes require hand-works and are really time-consuming but, by supposing someone can handle these things very easily, what you want to do is maybe possible in near future. Definitely not me.
Or maybe there are another brilliant ways to achieve this. For example, by changing some prameters in the game scripts. I just don't know how to do it yet. Let's hope someone can figure it out in near future.
Looks like for me the mod wont install. I've followed the instructions and I get stuck with the .MPQ editor. I'm told that access is denied to both the mod files and the game files.
Any ideas as to what is happening and how to fix this?
1. Diablo, hellfire, and The Hell 2 should be installed on SSD. Most PC nowadys use SSD as the defualt disk drives when selling. 2. Also shouldn't be installed on external drives. 3. Try to run games with an administor previlege. 4. Don't install game to the windows-protected folders like this, "\program files (x86)".
There is also a possibility that I actually made a mistake. But, for now, I'm busy for making mods for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. I hope this helps for now.
