That might take a while due to all files needed to be repackaged. I also need to finish the mod first, then i will be doing this. Special K is currently set to silent and localized. So you don't need to download Special K Launcher, just the mod itself. It's already included as a .dll file. There is no Special K installation. Should work on Windows, but i doubt it will work on Linux/Steam Deck, however.

Is there a chance you'd make a version that doesn't require Special K and you could just put it in as a pac, like dmc3 mods?

I will see what i can do. But for now it's Special K Local only due to how much easier is to extract and upscale/inject in real time to test things out. Maybe when 1.0 is done, so when i finish DMC2.

Yes, i can do that and i will do that in a separate optional download when the mod is complete. It's a good suggestion!

What instructions? It's a mod that replaces the low resolution UI Files to High Resolution UI Files.
It also fixes some of the things that were broken in the HD Release, such as the Hell Eye in Mission 20 in DMC3 (Skybox), DMC1 Skybox, etc, in-game menu typos such as "Turbo" being spelled wrong in DMC3.

The mod is pretty self-explanatory and the installation instructions as well. It's as simple as dragging the files to your root directory and launching the HD Collection. It already comes pre-packaged with Special K Localized.

Currently i outlined what was done and fixed. DMC3 is 100% Done, DMC2 was removed until it is finished, and DMC1 can't be modded except for some specific files that aren't UI, so those are done. The only thing left to do is finish DMC2 which i am currently working on, and then do a whole sweep of all the files and polish them further.

Download the .Zip File, and Extract the files inside to your Devil May Cry HD Collection Installation Folder, that's it!

If you need more help, just reply here.

Where do you install this to? Is there a certain folder that these mods are required to be in, or can they just be left in the HDC root folder?

pretty sure that the files and the folder inside the zip should be left in the HDC root folder

I've heard through the grapevine (relating to the MGS Master Collection) that the broken effects might be due to the textures being the wrong resolution, it would be nice if it was that simple to fix the missing ripple effect in DMC1 Mission 17 for instance...

If the textures are missing for the effects, but the effects are still intact or trigger without the textures (Rain/Alpha Blur, etc), then it could be an easy alpha layer fix. DMC1 will be done last, while it is my favorite game of the trilogy by far, it's the hardest one to do. Thanks for the insight. Currently doing DMC3, and i am about 100% done. Just have to update the mod. Any suggestions or feedback would be welcome too.

DMC1 seems like it's going to finally get some fixes. Would be cool for some VFX fixes and stuff as well but I don't how possible any of that stuff is.

This is something i will be looking into after i have upscaled all the backgrounds for DMC2 and DMC3. With the current method, which is a very simple Special K injector, it's impossible to upscale DMC1. However, with the right tools, it might be possible.

As for the alpha effects, motion blur, depth of field, rain, etc. This would have to be injected via an injector and the effects extracted somehow from the PS2 or PS3 versions. The Source Code is lost and it's a shame they didn't even try to replicate it.

One thing i can look into is the looping background music fixes, unless it is hardcoded directly into the game, and the pitch sounds (Due to how PS2 stored soundbanks to save memory, it would play the sound file twice as slower, so meaning we got the actual sound effect how it was recorded).

The major purpose of this is obviously the backgrounds/UI. Which even after i am 100% done with them, i will have to comb through the files again and fix any artifacting present and smooth things out.
