why the f*#@ cant the download be on nexus? I'm so fucking fed up with these awful forums. They should've died years ago.

To answer your question, it's comments like this that make some modders (especially when they are new to modding) uneasy to post their mods on Nexus. Or hide/remove it.

This and the various demands towards how users think modders should make their mods:

      • Telling modders what to do with their mods instead of asking nicely
      • Fighting with the modder(s) in the comments about his/her/their vision(s) of the mod(s), because it doesn't fit the personal taste of the mod user.
      • Sending impossible requests in Nexus DMs (I am looking at you 4SE Vergil ported backwards on PS3 DMC4 Vanilla request), because the user doesn't know the limits of modding and is unwilling to ask if this and that can be made or not.
      • Spamming modders with requests, expecting all of them to be done, while modding is a hobby at best.
      • The inability to read the descriptions of mods (if they are written) and asking questions that were already answered on the mod's main page, etc.

      If you make a mod:

      • You put your mod wherever you want to put it (Infernal Warks forums, Underworld Gates forums, Nexus, Facebook page, etc.)
      • You release it whenever you want to
      • You make changes to it you want to make, not what others demand you to do

If the forums have died years ago as you say, the majority of the modding knowledge would have been lost, many of the mods here would have never existed or were lost as well. Thanks to the forums, modding was kept alive.
If people can join the forums to only share their Nexus links, then it's no surprise you see the opposite.
Some modders that are active today had started off on forums, and if they prefer forums over Nexus, who are you to call them out on that?

I'm the owner of such forum, and unlike what you suggested, this was created this year, so it couldn't have died years ago, since it didn't even exist back then.

Nexus functions different than Forums (of course) and some people (me included) prefer the ways things work in Forums, just like a lot of people prefer the way things work on Nexus, and it's good that options exist. Imagine if someday Nexus falls and everything here it's lost forever?

Or the opposite. Forums dies and all information, knowledge and mods stored there is lost forever, just like you suggested?
Most of the mods posted here in Nexus for DMC and RE games are made with knowledge posted almost 100% in forums (like Resident Evil Modding Boards and Infernal Warks). Have these been deleted from existence and you would have seen muuuuuch less mods posted here as well.

In the end, one's existence doesn't influence negatively the other, BUT both can actually benefit from the other existing.

PS: you are not being forced to download the mod anyway. If you don't like where this one was posted, you can download others that available directly here. Have a good day.

Having a link to the download is a little annoying yeah but no forums like that should not die they are too important if nexus ends up going under or gets bought by a different company those forums won't be affected by it.

Some random forum would die way sooner than an actual popular website with actual funding behind it. I've been on multiple of these sort of forums before and there's dead links everywhere.

A ton of DmC: Devil May Cry mods are now completely gone from the internet and a ton of DMC4 mods just because they were on forums instead of actual websites.
