All of these are .rar files, they shouldn't be opened in notepad. Try to manually open them with winrar or 7-zip. Or your first download might've been corrupted and you can try redownloading.
Maybe you have accidentally forgotten to actually set track for specific character or there is another mod installed that modifies same dmc1/dmc2 files.
Same here for me. I clearly set the Only Thing They Fear Is You to play with Dante but instead it plays the original DMC 1 music during gameplay. I can still play it normally in the gallery though.
Are you using "fluffy manager 5000" to install mods? Do other mods work for you? Have you properly unpacked files? Each archive contains couple of mods, you need unpack downloaded file and install one (or more) of the files inside.
