I tried it and it kind of works, but the lever doesnt move. I actually tried to do a spin animation on mine as well, but for some reason i never figured out, i was only able to get it to work on the very first shot after a level loads.
I changed the skeleton of the shotgun, and animated with it. Undoubtedly that's why the lever not moving.
By the way, after animation in 3ds, I've deleted useless data with 010 editor motlist template. Not doing this will wreck the spin animation, I suppose that might be the reason of your animation not working properly?
The null, _000, vfx, eject bones tracks, and translation and scale tracks of all bones except _001.
Well, to be accurate it's more like blocking it from being loading, by editing header to reduce valid bone clip header. And then copy&paste related data at right place.
