Cool mod, but just from looking at the file sizes it looks to me like you have been modding the old sound files that are from before the vergil update. This means that Bury The Light shouldn't be playable in game. This is the current structure of the post-vergil update bgm_ingame pck file: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-dy2xCbI_R6KRM8Oew-KHYl15DuLKzZwEAXfMwGoTTo
Is the best way to get the new [x64\streaming\sound\wwise] 'bgm_ingame.pck.3.x64' file by purchasing the Vergil DLC? I also modified [x64\sound\wwise] 'bgm_ingame.pck.3.x64' and 'bgm_ingame.bnk.2.x64', and I assume those would have new counterparts as well.
you should def get the vergil dlc no doubt, must have stuff and also should make your life easier with modding since you on latest build state like others then and also hes pretty dope ....with mods lol
Yep, they both have new files. I don't think you need to purchase the dlc to get access to those files, they are in the re_chunk patch 005 pak file. And this might sound rude, but I've already done an updated version of this mod after seeing yours and that it wasn't up to date. I haven't released it anywhere, and I'm not sure if I will. And I don't use any of your files since I thought that the sound file you had for the song was very low quality and I had one with better quality. I also kind of fixed the looping issue in my version.
I have checked the DevilMayCry5 directory without having Vergil DLC installed, the "re_chunk_000.pak.patch_005" should still be in your directory to be unpacked, the game reads from these PAK files, so even if you do not have Vergil DLC purchased, the game still needs to read the changes that Vergil DLC made (like hair on characters going bald).
Anyway yeah, awesome mod mate, when you get a chance though, make sure to unpack the 005 PAK file, and combine it with your 000 PAK folder so that anything you do modding related, will be updated to latest game version.
@Danneawesome No offense taken; my source file for the sound track was from my Original Soundtrack CD for DMC1. I suspected it wasn't going to be the highest quality, or I screwed up the conversion from CD->WAV->WEM. I used this tutorial over at the RE Modding forums, but the '.bnk' file had three pairs of locations for 05.wem(ID:34975014) instead of two, so I was stabbing in the dark to figure out looping.
@tyArtic Now that I have it unpacked as 're_chunk_000.pak.patch_005', do I just drop its 'natives' onto the [re_chunk_000] 'natives' hierarchy? Will this create any issues for me by not having the DLC purchased yet?
Yes, you want the 005 PAK to overwrite the 000 PAK. Also I would recommend moving the re_chunk_000 folder that is unpacked into its own seperate folder, I've heard that the game may read from that folder and that may not be good. Aslong as the folder is in a different location, there should be zero chance that not having the DLC will affect your game.
whatever works best i guess? aka sounds best ? lol, your the pro im just tossing out some cool ideas there , but yeah i recon option nr.2 should be a better fit instead of just ending one song and starting with another ...sorts of a remix style thing and also yes i know this is far from easy lol, but could be da bomb if done right aka the ultimate shop song
p.s dmc2s not really popular...but it had some good stuff also ....like dantes cool acrobatics ..which we have a mod for ...and well the shop song is just f-ing killer imo almost even better than 1s, but yeah as said a mashup would be fire
