If you installed any of the 1.0 versions and they didn't install correctly for you (went directly into the DMC5 folder instead of the natives folder inside the DMC5 folder), install the 1.1 version, or simply extract the 1.0 .rar file. This should fix the issue
For those who want to make your own titles, see the following:
1) Click this link here. Download the .zip file in the attachments and extract the files into a folder using a program like WinRAR.
2) Extract the files from my mod into that folder, and drag one of them to the .exe (you will have to do them separately). A .txt file will be created, which you can edit with a program like Notepad.
3) Save your changes and drag the .txt file into the .exe. A version of the file with a ".new" at the end will be created, which you can rename (just remove the ".new") and use to replace the original file in the mod folder (or just place it in a new mod folder), and install with Fluffy Manager.
And that's it! Have fun with silly names for our bois.
Great mod, but the link you provided for the custom ones is not working. If you could give us any update on the situation, it would be very nice. Love the mod so far
So Im trying to change the names with the steps provided, and its going well up until step three. When I drag the text file into the exe nothing happens. What did I do wrong?
Make sure that you have the .14.txt file as well as the .14 file. If there isn't a .14 file the program thinks that the .14.txt file is supposed to be a .14 file and doesn't work.
This mod is amazing but can you help me to use it in other language? I tried to do this, but it works only in English and I can't find another language folders in the game files. In spite of this the title "The Dead Weight" is translated in the game cutsceen I don't understand why :(
Omg I really want to express how elated I am that you provided a tutorial on how to change the titles ourselves. This made me so happy. At first I was using this mod to get Dead Weight and Wacky Woohoo Man, and another mod to make Vergil "The Storm that is Approaching", but then I also wanted the "Definitely Not V" but couldn't figure out how to get all of them to be compatible, and then I saw your tutorial, so I edited this mod to change them all myself and I found something not mentioned anywhere here which is that you can also change Trish, Lady, Nico, Morrison and even Urizen's titles as well, so here's what I changed them all to and it works great:
Nero: The Dead Weight Dante: The Wacky Woohoo Pizza Man V: The Definitely Not Vergil Nico: The Granddaughter of Nell Goldstein (really hard for me to choose between this and "The "New" .45 Caliber Virtuoso", I think I'll make 2 versions and swap them every now and then because I like both so much) Lady: The Orphaned Human (I couldn't think of anything better) Trish: The You Can't Smash Because It Would Be Weird (Again, couldn't think of anything better) Morrison: The Blackwashed Anime Character Vergil: The Storm That is Approaching Urizen: Tentacle Boi
I also noticed another thing this mod/tutorial doesn't advertise; you can also change the text on all of the enemy/bosses titles and enemy killing screenshots the game takes on your second playthrough, and I think I'm gonna do that sometime in the future when I eventually get around to it. I would also like to know if I could have permission to upload my version of the Alternate Character Titles mod to the nexus as well as the Enemy/Bosses Titles and Enemy Screenshot Captions mod I eventually plan to make, just in case anyone out there likes it and want to use my versions without having to take the time to edit it all themselves like I did. I ask permission because I took this mod and edited it to make my version and feel like that means I should ask, and would of course give credit to this mod as well. Thank you so much for providing this.
