since you gave beowulf to dante, why don't you port this ifrit to dmc1 dante? https://infernalwarks.boards.net/thread/647/dmc1-dante-coatless-vainiuss1
These are awesome, thanks for porting them! Unfortunately no matter which costume I choose, Dante seems to have black artifacts floating around him? And they vary by weapon as well, with Lucifer having four black shadows around him (they kinda look like the pins).
Also DMC1 Dante always has Alastor, even if you don't use the "sword of choice" folder.
These effects are the least broken with DMC3 Dante, but they're still there.
I extracted the "nativePC" folder for the costume I wanted directly into my DMC4 install and replaced the files when asked, did I do something wrong?
Hello there. For the weird black stuff, you have to turn off the shadow settings in the game by going to Options>PC Settings
For the Alastor issue, you'll probably have to delete the file itself by going to nativePC>model>game>wp005 and delete everything in the folder if you don't want the Alastor weapon to be there.
Yes you'll be asked to replace files and you should replace them.
The reason why Alastor appeared there constantly is also because you probably never replaced the uDantePlayer.arc file as well when you changed to another costume. You have to replace everything that's inside nativePC, which has two folders, model and rom.
That's the only thing I can think of, I hope it made sense in a way.
So turning shadows off definitely fixed the black shadows issue. The only issue I'm still having is with the DMC1 mod, I deleted the files inside wp005 and made extra sure that uDantePlayer.arc was replaced, but now Rebellion is missing completely. It also replaces Gilgamesh with Beowulf, but that one works fine.
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, I really appreciate the help!
I've given all 3 Dante costumes the Beowulf weapon, so that's normal.
If you want the Rebellion to show again, you need to edit the uPlayerDante.arc with a hex editor. In the hex editor you need to search and type this "xodel\game\wp005\wp005". Once you find this exact words, rename xodel to model. Save and you'll be able to play with the Rebellion again
And If you want to play with modded swords, you need to rename "model" back to "xodel".
If you don't have Hex editor, you can download it here. https://softradar.com/hxd-hex-editor/
Hi, after following your steps it works perfectly! Thank you so much for your explanations and your patience, I really appreciate it!
A side note for anyone who finds this: when renaming 'xodel' to 'model' I had to make sure to do it for all instances in the file, not just the first one I found. Then I was able to use Rebellion again. Beowulf and Lucifer still work perfectly (and I prefer Beowulf to Gilgamesh, so this is a plus for me!)
