for some reason this mod messes up some textures, mostly blood splatter from intro sequence, and posters or signs with texts. from up close they looked like they should, but when walking away it gets riddled with stripes and just looks straight up corrupted.
could it be conflicting with other mods? i currently have: input switch, faithful inventory and vands free takedown installed.
I'm seeing the same thing, all over the place on objects and posters. Black stripes which appear only at certain distances. I have used Exe Patcher (for FOV), I have Vands, DXHR Augmented (for inventory), and ReShade (using clarity.fx and lightroom.fx). As far as I can tell none of those are the problem though.
Very nice mod. I had a question that perhaps you can answer as I am trying to mod this game myself. How did you repack files into the DRM container? I have Rick's tools and can unpack all the files. I can view the DRM archives and extract what I need no problem but getting it back into the DRM container is the issue I am having and I have scoured the Internet looking for any tool or solution. I know Rick was working on a tool for this but I cannot find anything. Any links, advice or anything would be awesome!
You might want to use the source code included with this mod as a base. The DRMPack.cpp and DRMPack.h files should be helpful here. As far as I know, no one has yet figured out how to re-compress the DRM files, but the repacking is a simple reversal of Rick's unpacking script.
AI upscales can get very weird looking if the original textures are already very low resolution and you scale them too high. You usually need to touch it up urself which takes time. That's the reason im guessing. Fantastic mod and I'm glad it works with all other mods on nexus.
At that level, it would reach diminishing returns, because the 3D models are not being changed, so there would still be the same low polygon count shapes. Also, the uncompressed file size for a 4x verison of this mod would probably be about 40GB. I imagine a lot of people probably wouldn't want to use such a large mod, given those diminished returns.
The issue is how blurry the original textures are making the game look like a blurry mess. This mod sort of fixes that making the game much crispier. After playing for a while you will notice the old and new texture. Still low but no longer blurry.
