More of a re-skined diesel than an actual steam switcher, but not the worst model i've found here.

  Its not a re-skined diesel, if you open every door in the locomotive you won't see a diesel engine.

idk if I'm just an idiot and am missing something obvious here, which is very possible. But the locomotive doesn't to start for me

  The breakers are hidden under a panel on the right side of the control stand in the cab. Once you flip all of the switches, the on switch is next to all of the other main controls. once you flip that, the engine doesn't make much noise. Try blowing the horn. If you can hear it, then you have successfully started the loco.
