never played DeS but I'm a souls veteran. Do you suggest giving the game first shot with or without your mod? I don't mind (reasonably) more difficult settings but I do really hate unfair enemy placement like the capra demon to give it an example.
I like that you didn't change the placement of things you thought were good but is the overall experience better than the original without straying too much further from it?
Also: what about conflicts with these mods? https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/18 https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/65
I don't think that restored level mod would add anything, if anything I think it'd worsen the pacing by making it take longer to reach the real action. Any mod adding new or restored content, I suggest leaving alone on a first playthough (in any game that isn't KotOR II).
I think it'd be better to avoid this one for now, so that you can get a good frame of reference if you decide to try a playthrough with it afterwards. Too many times I see mods sold as "objective" fixes or improvements, only for the mod to totally butcher and ruin whatever it was attempting to improve (and get lots of praise for doing so).
Personally, I have 90-100 hours in and I use these mods (along with some emulator settings to amp the rendering): https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/19 https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/18 https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/7 https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/24 https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/11 https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/3 https://www.nexusmods.com/demonssouls/mods/8
Hey, I was wondering if using your mod as a starting point, it would be possible to make an enemy randomizer? I don't know much about modding, but I would really like to play an enemy randomizer in Demon's Souls and would be willing to learn how to make a mod. Though I wanted to know if it seems possible, and if so, would you be able to give me some pointers on where to start?
I like the idea of a simple remix a lot. Changing things for the sake of it without any thought of how enemies should be placed is what a lot of these mods do and I hate it.
Cool mod, I like the new variety a lot. I would not at all mind some crazier mixups or really random nonsense in the future too. Looking forward to using this in my item randomized playthrough
It would absolutely not be a bad idea to change things for the sake of changing things. The whole point of a remix is to change things and keep me on my toes without knowing what to expect.

I just want to ask, is it possible to make a mod, so that lizards will not despawn forever (until NG+) when burried into ground?
