Disagree with the mod. That's fine. Anything else is noise. Don't like it? Ignore it.
Zero Tolerance For harassment, personal attacks, and especially death threats. Trolling is prohibited. Any negative comment about the mod that is not a criticism will be blocked. (Yes, it's already happened. Don't be the next one.)
Sorry for the wall but... Firstly, this mod in isolation is NOT offensive, but the context in which it is presented is questionable (in my opinion.)
Why? Deltarune's story centers around Kris, and the conflicts they're dragged into, but there are moments where Kris removes the SOUL from their body, and is the first proof that we are independent of Kris. With each chapter, Kris acts more, independently of the player, whether by removing their SOUL or reacting to the actions of the player. YOU are different than Kris and Chapter 4 could not make that more evident. This is important for when we consider what Kris is and who they are.
Lets think about something - why does everyone call Kris "They/Them"? Why not by a specific set of the common gendered pronouns, He/Him or She/Her? The concept of Sex (Male/Female) and Gender(Expression) both do exist in the UT/DR universe and the concept of being trans and gay or otherwise queer is very often explored in both medias. See the lion waitress in Undertale and Deltarune, or literally any relationship in either game, hell we saw polycules explored in Chapter 3. So Kris could VERY realistically be a nonbinary character in universe, so why is this never brought up then? ... Because people have known Kris before you did. Kris never had to introduce themselves and their nonbinary-ness, because being nonbinary is normal and nonbinary people don't just say "I'm Nonbinary!" the way Wing Ding Gaster does. Kris is nonbinary, but Kris doesn't want to be known as a nonbinary teen like that's their thing, so of course they wouldn't mention it again. Why doesn't anyone else mention it then? Because it really, really doesn't matter. Kris's pronouns are they/them and that's all the darkners need to worry about. Its not their gender to express, just to affirm it. Why doesn't Kris say their pronouns to new people? I mean, they very well could (though it's not like we see the things they say) but, chapter 3 gives us another insight... that everything knows Kris. If not directly, the darkners would hear stories of them, and under that context, know Kris generally goes by they/them. Every relevant lightner knows Kris, so it would just get around, and everyone just knows Kris is nonbinary.
ALL of that to say is - there is NO ambiguity. Kris's gender is NOT open-ended, just requires logic if you wanted to REALLY know, when pronouns are already used to show that (Also Toby literally correcting someone before but lets ignore that.) To say that Kris's gender is ambiguous is purposefully denies the existence of a nonbinary character. I do not have a problem if the player would prefer Kris was presented as male or female, if Kris being a boy or girl makes you feel better, why? No, really, I am genuinely curious where you get comfort in Kris identifying in the gender binary, and, for the mod author, because its more "definitive"? But go off i guess.
As a personal gripe... if you did specify it being a pronoun and gender mod though with only he/him or she/her... wheres it/its? Wheres the neopronouns? Can Kris be nonbinary but just use other pronouns? Not that I'm saying you're transphobic... just that it's a bit disappointing and even IN MY OPINION misleading.
... it really is? It's a genuine criticism to your presentation of this mod that I felt needed to be backed by my reasoning, because I wanted to be thorough and present the reason WHY its an issue. This really does matter, as much as you want to ignore it, I wouldn't be so dismissive. It matters because we're talking about erasure, we're talking about presentation, it is a deep look into how we look at and think about gender and our approach to the unusual - because apparently being nonbinary is a concept people can't comprehend for Kris? Because if its not explicitly stated, it can't be true? I'm saying all that because my biggest issue with this mod or mods of this genre is, why is being or presenting male or female more important (especially to the point for you to make a mod) than letting Kris be nonbinary? Why isn't that the valid answer for you, when by all means the game has only supported the nonbinary argument? I think that if you agreed... there would be more pronoun choices, or you would state that it isn't about it being "your story" or our story, because it isn't. It's Kris'. You pose it as ambiguity when that could be only a little bit further from the truth because, yes, I can admit it can take thinking about why Kris is only addressed as they/them, but it is a definitive answer, and as is, is the definitive story. A mod of this kind takes away some meaning from Deltarune as Kris' "ambiguity" if anything, was made to be part of the story, that at first, we assume Kris is a self-insert but then we realize we are seperate. We're MEANT to think about that. One can argue that Kris is presenting in a masculine way, you know, being a knight, wearing more masculine leaning clothes, but I would argue that it is Kris being forced into a prophecy rather than them willing to be a part of it, and being shoehorned into a traditionally masculine position. I can go on, but this is a genuinely important part of Deltarune's story and is why presenting it as a solution to ambiguity is, IN MY OPINION not the right angle.
Since you don't like "walls of text" because you either don't have the attention span for it or lack the reading comprehension to understand anything longer than a sentence, I'm gonna keep it simple: Your lack of perception on a matter doesn't mean what others are perceiving isn't "deep".
how the games changed these days. back then, (a random example) most stories were simple. "you are the hero, take this sword and fight for your princess" but now most stories changed to be "inclusive" and turned into "you are they\them\xe\xe, take this magic rod and go explore your identity for your they\them\xe\xer"
this mod at least makes me forget the weird ideas this game's trying to sell, so i can laugh at the jokes without caring about the "creator's they them story" basically, i only cared for some side character like secret bosses but never about the main characters nor the relationships
in my opinion, i like when the game reflect something from the past instead of trying to sell me an idea or an orientation of the creator (toby fox wore a dress so this explain why he is obsessed with they\them stuff)
Hey, dont feel bad about making this mod, the twitter crowd may be harassin ya, but remember, freedom is a good thing, and a simple mod like this aint harming anybody, so people should have the right to choose kris' pronouns if they desire so, they/he/she are/is a fictional character, and this isnt any different from the typical "protagonist but different gender/skin colour/whatever" mods yall often see with no backlash, just remember that you stand in the side of freedom, and that means being able to use mods that dont harm nor affect anybody else irl, keep the good work up, my man. Dont let them get under your skin like that.
Aw, it says deleted user, but if you do read this, thank you for your comment. Censorship is horrible! I agree with the rational portion of the fandom that supports free speech!
Then why are you actively censoring these comments? Going off your twitter you 100% made this with the intention of being bigoted, Not because of free speech and censorship, Showing trans people soyjacks unaliving themselves, You deleted my post that pointed this out, Sure seems like censorship to me.
I don't even like the LGBTQ community at all and how toxic they are when it comes to mods like this, But id rather you just be honest about your reasonings then just having this guise that its for free speech an anti-censorship, It just isn't man, Its a good mod but come on.
Coming back here after like a month... You would be rather surprised to how toxic deltarune community acts if you dare call Kris anything but "they". Actually no, you wouldn't - that "zero tolerance for harassment, personal attacks and death threats" is sticked for a good reason
Most cursed outcome here is with non-native speakers - in this case they are getting harassed for a literal "twitter thoughtcrime" because they, poor non-native English speakers, dared to think in their native language in which there is HE and SHE and nothing else and "they" towards a single person sounds extremely stupid. Literally 1984's newspeak right there!
So much for "inclusive community", where everyone not speaking English is excluded and harassed
Kris' pronouns aren't for ambiguity. Kris is their own person, explicitly. We are controlling them, not playing as them. Frisk and Chara never have pronouns used for them because they are ambiguous. Kris is not. I don't understand how someone could play the game and not realize this.
you can cope that its just a mod if you want, but the fact that you completely missed the point of the game is hilarious. "no one can choose who they are in this world".
I forgot how annoying the deltaurne community can be, like for the love of the unholy, its just a mod nobody is forcing nobody, this are fictional none existing personas literal pixels and code.
I generally like such fans. The essence of "They" in Toby's games was conceived as an attempt to please everyone. After all, in Undertale, Frisk is still drawn as a boy or a girl - and everyone likes everything. But here? There's drama right away.
Technically incorrect, Toby called Frisk a "Young Androgynous Person" and Legends of Localization: Undertale says that Frisk's gender is "left unstated".
Yeah, in Starmen, he called Frisk that, but I was mainly referring to the gender, not the age. At least we know that Frisk has (step)cousin. He also skipped questions about age and gender of Frisk in interviews.

Radiation is pro-headcanon, and he has never referred to Frisk, Chara, and Kris as "non-binary," but rather androgynous.
If people can't accept a harmless mod, it's their loss.

In my game reality, Chris is he
