@1400 with max preset, getting around 120fps on a 3090, only time it goes below 100(around 90) is only when launching the minehead(blue crystals). Not sure why that one in particular dips so low. This is on a LG 144Hz panel. CPU usage peaks at 50% on the 3600.
I'm using the Quality preset and shadows are super grainy, is there any way to fix this? I don't recall having this issue in the brief time I tried the Max version, which as an aside actually runs okay on my computer but has extreme frame drops at seemingly random.
You can lower res scale to improve performance, and increase sharpening to improve clarity (or use driver sharpening on top of the mod). I should mention that I use 80% - 100% sharpening from the in-game settings, along with the sharpening from the mod.
With a 1070 Ti at 3840x1600, the performance version maintains a constant 60 FPS with no blurriness. Your experience will of course vary depending on what resolution and GPU you have.
And yeah, the added screen space global illumination does make it darker. Global illumination works in such a way that it's not just adding fake shadows to the corners and edges of objects, but instead bounces light around. If there are no light sources in the scene and the scene itself is not brightly lit, then the global illumination will make it darker.

nvmd i found it!
Idk why but the game looks and performs better without the mod.
Seems to disable Ambient Occlusion which ruins the visuals.
Here are the two screenshots comparing vanilla and modded: https://imgur.com/a/d89mXd3
Everything was just a little bit blurry, and everything was a fair bit too dark -- even with my gamma turned up.
