If you have not already, try to ensure that texmod is being run as administrator.

    Hi!
Could you make a color for Carver like Isaac's, for RIG and helmet?
    Please!

Hi. This mod already does offer colors for Carver's RIG separately from Isaac's in the available download files.

As for visor colors, all visors on characters use the same textures and changing those textures changes them for all characters. Carver's visor cannot be altered separately from Isaac's.

Unfortunately, several of the textures used in the visor color are also used/re-used in many other places in the game: on stars/planet/sun/debris in space, room lighting in the ships, bench screen background, etc. This is why I have not uploaded a Visor Colors mod.

While some of the visor textures can be changed 'safely' to other colors, several of them cannot without also changing all of those other lighting effects in the game to that color. It really destroys the game atmosphere to mess with the game lighting textures in that way.

If I limit the visor color mod to only altering those that can be 'safely' altered and which are only used in the visor, it isn't sufficient and results in the visor color being a mix of aqua from the unaltered textures and the custom color used on the altered ones. This result looks horrible as can be seen in screenshots on some other DS3 suit mods that also alter the visor color in addition to the suits.

This same issue is also present in Dead Space 2 of a few of the visor textures also being used elsewhere in the game. However, it is only one or two of the several textures used in the visor that are also used elsewhere instead of quite a few of the visor textures as it is in Dead Space 3. In DS2, altering only the visor textures that can be 'safely' altered isn't perfect, but it is sufficient to change the visor colors without looking horrible. In DS3 it does look horrible as even fewer textures can be 'safely' altered to being other colors.

Thank you for explaining about the colors of the visor.
I tried to pull the textures through TexMod to change the RIG to Carver like Isaac Clarke in the original game (light blue) but it didn't work.We play co-op and dark blue really stands out from all the other RIGs in the game.
Sorry for bad English, I use a translator

I understand now. I had forgotten that Carver's normal/default color is dark blue and not aqua/teal like Isaac's default.
I will update the Carver download file to include an aqua version for Carver to match Isaac's normal/default color.

Will adding that for you be useful?

      _____
      EDIT:
I've updated the Carver RIG download file to include Aqua to match Isaac's default.

I don't recall, but if Carver's visor is also Dark Blue by default like his RIG color instead of aqua, it must use different textures for the visor color than all other visors. Since it would likely have its own dark blue textures that wouldn't be used elsewhere in the game, Carver's visor color might be able to fully re-colored. I'll see if I can find a spot in the game where Carver has his helmet up/on so that I can cycle through textures to find his visor textures. If they are different textures, I'll see if I can get them put into a Carver's Visor Colors mod.

Great Mod. Thank you for putting in the work.

That being said, I cannot get it to work. I do have DS3 through Origin. I followed the instructions on how to remedy the issue when launching via origin. When I changed the names and placed the TEXMOD into my DS3 folder, same one where the .exe is located, the game does not launch and states that the game cannot be located and to reinstall/install the game.

      Hi! Thank you very much.

I just looked more into methods of using TexMod with Origin and I found another tutorial regarding its use in Mass Effect 3 that mentions an additional renaming step. The step it mentions is essentially undoing the renaming of the game executable post-texmod launch (and altering texmod's name again) so that texmod will launch the game exe with its original name.

They instruct to make the name changes and launch the game in Origin, which opens TexMod.
Then, when the TexMod window is brought up instead of the game, revert the names of the executables so that the game exe has its original name.
Then to launch the game from the TexMod window.

      Like:
      - Rename "deadspace3.exe" to "deadspace3-ORIG.exe" (for Origin/Original)
      - Rename "Texmod.exe" to "deadspace3.exe" and place it in the Dead Space 3 folder
      - Launch game via Origin so the TexMod exe gets loaded
      - While it is open, rename "deadspace3.exe" (texmod) to "deadspace3-TEX.exe" (for texmod)
      - Rename "deadspace3-ORIG.exe" back to "deadspace3.exe"

This renaming would need to be done each time, and then reverted after done playing, but it could be automated by a BAT file with short delays to allow for application launching before renaming. That way it can be done quickly and automatically every time instead of manually.

The reddit thread I reference below also mentions this script/BAT file automation, but theirs are configured for ME3 not DS3 and would need to be modified.

      _____
What I have found is this, but it was 6 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/1bmifr/texmod_for_the_me3pc_and_you
      - Locate executable "MassEffect3.exe" (or deadspace3.exe in this case)
      - Move that "MassEffect3.exe" out of the folder. Anywhere is fine.(or deadspace3.exe in this case)
      - Move the Texmod.exe into the folder you moved the game exe out of
      - Rename Texmod.exe "MassEffect3.exe" (or deadspace3.exe in this case)
      - Launch Mass Effect 3 from Origin normally. Texmod should be open now. (or deadspace3.exe in this case)
      - Do not close Texmod.
      - Rename the altered Texmod.exe to something else
      - Move MassEffect3.exe back into the folder (or deadspace3.exe in this case)

So after you made it to the point of having TexMod open, but before launching the game from within it, rename the altered texmod.exe to something else and rename the actual game exe back to deadspace3. Then launch the game from within the Texmod window.

I've seen other mods using TexMod also not mention this 'rename them back' step, but others do. Many TexMod-utilizing mods seem to have been packaged into executable files that primarily just run the BAT file actions to perform the renaming. I don't personally trust mods in executable form despite an author's assurances of it being virus-free and just a 'false positive'. A BAT file is a text file, I can open it in Notepad and read its lines and see what it does. An exe running BAT files from within it that I cannot verify what it is doing? No thanks.

I recommend making/using a normal, 3 or 4 line BAT file to automate the renaming process to save some time/effort when you want to play.

The first solution did work. MOD looks great. I will try to play around with the second correction (BAT file automation) at some point. Thank you for your help. Very much appreciated.
