Fat chance considering the date... but.. dare i request,

Is there anyway to get your AMAZING suit textures into Dead Space 3? I"m noticing a LOT of great ones for DS2 for the security suit and advanced suit which DO exist in Dead Space 3 (N7 for Isaac/Security Suit or N7 for Carver.. while the Advanced Suit requires Cheat Engine) and i'd love to be able to wear them in Dead Space 3 as well! You did great work, thank you for these textures either way as I;'ll probably use'em when I replay DS2.

Hi! Thank you very much for the kind words. I had looked at unlocking the Advanced suit in DS3 just a couple weeks ago as I was considering giving the game a playthrough once again, but I've been busy lately and haven't started it again yet.

At that time I also checked out whether the Advanced suit in DS3 was using the same textures as it does in DS2 to see if my skin files could just be quickly altered to run on DS3. Sadly, while some are the same textures on the Advanced suit, a couple textures are different and would need a little more work to port over for use in DS3.

I also just checked the Security suit for Carver and it looks like all of the textures are different. Porting my Security suit skins over to DS3 would need a bit more work.

I will start into working on porting over some of the Advanced suits as I am able to though. However, if you are interested, if you were to list some of my Advanced suit skins you would prefer I start with, I will prioritize porting over those first if I am able to.

I should also be able to port the Security suits over without issue as well. However, as the Security suit is for Carver only as you noted, getting screenshots of him wearing the suits for use on the mod page will be difficult for me.

      An update:

I tested porting my DS2 Phaze Advanced suit to DS3 and it seemed to work perfectly. I also looked closer at the N7 suit textures and it should allow for porting my DS2 Security suits over easily as well. I'll run a test on that suit tomorrow. I will hold off on attempting to look into whether more would need to be done to port them to Carver's Security suit until after I complete the Advanced and N7 ports.

      That's great news!

I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner, I got caught up.

PHAZE is actually one of the ones I would've asked for, so that's especially nice to hear it ported over without issue. Another would be ones like this one, the HEX series (which I do understand is not Advanced but the Security Suit.)

N7 could be used for both Isaac and Carver considering just having a mass effect save gets you the suit, and both of them get the N7 suit for usage. Source: I played as Carver in the N7 suit for a co-op campaign 4 days ago with a friend!

There is something else that I would welcome your thoughts on as it is something I need to decide on prior to uploading the ported re-textures as I complete them.

I'm looking at possibly making a change to all of my texmod re-texture packs to remove the need to constantly rename the exes back and forth each time the game is started.

I believe the only reason that the real exe needs to be renamed back to "deadspace3.exe" after texmod is loaded so texmod launches the game, is that the tpf skin packs are set to work with the program that is launched called "deadspace3.exe"; thus requiring the renaming back after loading texmod so the exe texmod loads is "deadspace3.exe". However, this can be changed.

Instead of the tpf file loading up on "deadspace3.exe", which would require the real exe being renamed again prior to launching from texmod, texmod can stay as "deadspace3.exe" forever and the tpf file instead set to work on the renamed exe.

So instead of temporarily renaming the real game exe to something random while texmod is called "deadspace3.exe", changing usage of my re-texture files to instead instruct that it be renamed to a specific name that the tpf skin file will be set to load with.

      - "deadspace3.exe" would be renamed specifically to "deadspace3REAL.exe"
      - "texmod.exe" renamed to "deadspace3.exe" as usual
      - tpf files set to load textures into "deadspace3REAL.exe" instead of "deadspace3.exe" so no renaming needs to be done

The launcher loads "deadspace3.exe" (texmod); Texmod then loads "deadspace3REAL.exe" (the real exe); the tpf files would be set to load on "deadspace3REAL.exe". As it is currently, the tpf files are set to load on "deadspace3.exe", which requires the real exe being renamed back to "deadspace3.exe" for them to load properly.

This way "texmod.exe" will be permanently renamed to "deadspace3.exe" and the real "deadspace3.exe" would be renamed permanently to "deadspace3REAL.exe". I believe this should work and remove the need for any file renaming after the initial renaming.

However, one effect this change would have is only tpf re-texture files that are set to load on deadspace3REAL.exe would work, such as all of mine if I make this change. As tpf files by other mod authors are still set to load on deadspace3.exe, using those would require the renaming and thus my re-texture files would then not work as they would be trying to load on deadspace3REAL.exe.

This would mean a mixture of my skins and skins by other authors could not be used at the same as their skins and my skins would be looking to load on different executables.

I think the change would be worth it if it works properly -which it seems to- so users no longer need to constantly rename files just to load the game with re-texture files active on it.

Would you be for such a change to my re-textures to load on "deadspace3REAL.exe" so no more file renaming would be needed even though it would mean that my re-textures couldn't be used at the same time as re-textures made by other authors whose files load on "deadspace3.exe"?

I apologize. That was likely a waste of your time reading if you read it (I've now done 'strike through' on it all).

I've noticed several other additional effects, issues, and inconveniences that would be apparent for different users if I were to go through with altering my skin files to load on 'deadspace3REAL.exe' instead of 'deadspace3.exe'.

One of these issues among several would be that many players use ReShade and their existing ReShade configurations and installations would be set to load on 'deadspace3.exe'. This change would also require users reconfiguring their ReShade installation to load on 'deadspace3REAL.exe' instead.

It appears there are too many issues, inconveniences and problems that could result from making that change to the skin configuration, so I have decided against making that change.

I did read through it and was fascinated at the detail of your fix and your thought process!

Sadly it does seem like it presents quite a few issues that can't necessarily be avoided. Oh well, perhaps someday a different method will be conceived and we can leave texmod behind, ... whenever that may be?

I will keep looking for an easier way to load Texmod with Origin.

I've also uploaded my Phaze Advanced suit re-texture for DS3 now if you would like it:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/deadspace3/mods/32

It has two skins; one for the Clean suit version and one for the Dirty suit version. I've not been able to select which one gets worn at the suit kiosk. There is only the one 'Advanced Suit' in the suit listing at the kiosk and it seems to always load the Dirty suit for me. Loading the Clean version as being worn requires my manually setting it as my active suit via Cheat Engine. I might be missing something.

I'm going to work on the HEX series for N7 next.

EDIT: I quickly finished and have now uploaded the N7 - HEX Lime suit, so editing to note it also:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/deadspace3/mods/33/

      And N7 - Hex Red
      https://www.nexusmods.com/deadspace3/mods/34/

      Continuing on to the others.

Hi. As far as I know it is not. I've never been able to find a way or come across anyone else who has found a way to alter existing models/meshes or add custom models/meshes.
