Couldn't get it to work though I followed the instructions, using steam... I really wanted to try out the aqua color as it matches the rig and visor color for isaac, but its just not letting me. I don't know what to do, the instructions were simple enough, am I missing something?
Hello. Unfortunately, Dead Space 1 is different from DS2 and DS3 in that the visor color is integrated as an area of the entire helmet texture and not a separate texture on its own. This makes it so that the visor color cannot be changed separately from the whole helmet and the visor area of each suit helmet texture would need altering.
This isn't so much a problem if the visor color is the only skin re-texture being loaded. However, any other re-textures also being used that would change the appearance of the suits would have the custom helmet texture in them being replaced/overwritten with the 'clean' version that only has the visor area of the texture changed to a different color.
So a visor color change pak would not be compatible with suit paks and the visor area would need to be changed within that suit pak for that level suit.
