I forced DLAA using the DLSS4 and the hair and lighting reflection problem due to low res disappeared! the hair still looks ugly, but that wasn't my problem because it's just how they designed the hair in the game, my problem was that crazy shimmering and low res edges now all gone.
I'm using Epic version too, but it works for me. Its important to have DLSS supported video cards, but other than that idk why you having problems. I have RTX 5080. 1 thing that happened is when I first set FSR 2 (DLSS) the game froze for like 30 secs, but thats it, it did not crash for me.
If anyone is having problems with the screen space reflections when enabling dlss or fsr; I solved the issue by setting the "post-processing" to low. After setting the post-processing to 'low' the screen space reflections worked as when not enabling any dlss or fsr, reflecting correctly what's on screen.
For some reason the optiscaler version just doesn't load at all, while the vanilla optiscaler works, but disables EOS (epic online service) making coop unplayable somehow.. same for the non optiscaler version, visually it's still just the bad FSR implementation..
Hey guys, got time to play this game and noticed the reflections bug with dlss or any upscaler used.
Use
r.Disocclusion.enable=0
Place in the engine.ini file and that should fix the issue. Special thanks to majorandry for helping narrow down the fix faster. You can now leave post processing on high or ultra with no visual loss.
It didn't change anything for me. What fixed it for me was just putting SSR to medium, I've got DLAA running on the Transformer model preset K. The game looks so much better now! Thanks anyways.
Thank you kindly for sharing this! Can confirm that it works flawlessly on Steam version. I even managed to update to 3.7.0 using DLSS swapper :-)) Performs wonder!
I see some players are having difficulty getting this to work. Assuming the issue is not hardware related, I deleted the Epic Game folder and set NoOperation to 1 in the .ini file prior to launching the game for the first time so that I don't have to deal with Epic, which may be the reason why it works for me. Hope this helps!
are you sure you dont get buged out reflections whe enabling this.. even with norml FSR enabled the reflections do not display correctely when moving the camera..its really aparent in the mansion and on glass.
i did'nt ask if it was running smooth or better frame rate. that is not the issue. i asked about a reflection gltich. go and look at the reflections on the floor in the starting mansion hub or at the cutseeen when you first get there in the gym when you wake up handcuffed and look directly infront at the floor. are you sure you dont get any reflection bug when panning the camera. this is what i see if i have FSR enabled.
The bugged reflections are still a thing even with the mod installed, not using the latest graphics drivers tho. It gives me on a RTX3080 about +40fps average on Quality
Bugged SSR is a thing even with FSR but it seems way more pronounced with this mod. There is no issue with native TAA though. Would be nice if there was a DLAA implementation with rhis mod, bv the issue seems to be the internal rendering resolution.
I just tried and it didn't work for me. Maybe the location of the files is wrong from what its asking me. I have no clue tbh. I placed it in Dead Island 2\Content\DeadIsland\Binaries\WinGDK

No need to lower post-processing.
The audacity to say something that is unbelievably misleading is super bold
