reakers Evolved – complete overhaul

DESCRIPTION:
This mod overhauls the behavior, awareness, and threat level of all Freaker types in Days Gone. It makes Freakers more dangerous, reactive, and immersive without breaking game balance.
Affected enemy types:
- Swarmers
- Screamers
- Newts
- Bleachers
- Reachers
- Breakers
- Hordes
Key Changes:
- Increased enemy awareness and reaction speed
- Boosted damage across all Freaker types
- Slight increase to run and sprint speeds (10–15%)
- Screamers now spawn more enemies and scream more frequently
- Hordes are more responsive and alert others more effectively
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Go to your Days Gone install directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Days Gone\
2. Rename the folder named “sfpaks” to “sfpakss”
(This enables mod loading.)
3. Copy the .pak file from this mod into the following folder:
\Days Gone\BendGame\Content\Paks\
4. Launch the game.
NOTES:
- Built for the 2024 Remastered version of Days Gone
- Compatible with existing saves, but starting a new game is recommended for best results
- Avoid using mods that overwrite AI controllers or Freaker behavior files
