Unfortunately, this does not work anymore with the latest "remastered" update and DLC. Will you be updating this file to make it work in the new version of the game?

The answer I was given by Sammi on the discord channel is there isn't a reason to support more than 8gb vram because the game simply doesn't use more than that.

This Mod worked fantastic for me, no more hitching.  I followed the Modders installation suggestion.  Thank you...

I tested the mod, if I'm honest I can't tell the difference,l on the go, and I'm in crater lake area  i installed it in correct location the one BendGame  inside Appdata right?
Aswell I only tested with initial  release  version  2.0, maybe new main File would work better?  if so I can only test later when I return
Maybe is it possible to make before  and after  image of improvement? Especially  one like sharper textures  and mesh loaded in, maybe the foliage aswell

You put the pak in %localappdata%\BendGame\Saved\Paks

And you have to rename the sfpaks folder (you can rename it to anything) located in ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Days Gone\BendGame\Content\

Why aren't these install instructions included on the description page of the mod?

These are the mod install instructions on the description page:

      1. Choose a pak file based on your VRAM size
      2. Drag it to ...\BendGame\Content\Paks\
      3. Delete previous version pak

These are the mod install instructions provided by weirdsciencex:

      1. Choose a pak file based on your VRAM size
      2. Put the pak in: %localappdata%\BendGame\Saved\Paks
      3. Rename the sfpaks folder located in:  \Steam\steamapps\common\Days Gone\BendGame\Content\

Which of these mod install instructions are correct?

I've never installed files directly into the game folder, I have over 40 mods installed of various types with no issues using localappdata

So you were sharing another way of installing the mod, is your way better?

I don't know if either have advantages over others, I just prefer to keep the original install folder as clean as possible, then if issues I can easily revert.

You can rename it to anything, the name does not matter.

Question - what are you meant to rename the sfpaks folder to??? You've just said rename it... to what?

Completely ignore what weirdsciencex said and just follow the install instructions on the main description page.

I honestly gave up trying to understand the different mod install instructions a couple of years back - the Days Gone modding scene seems to more or less go with the instructions weirdsciencex has share, or some variation of them (Almost every Days Gone mod tells me to put the mods in the local app data and rename the sfpaks file to enable mods).

In fact, I'm so used to the general Days Gone instructions, I put this mod in the appdata folder and the mod works just fine in there, but I can/will move it to the install folder as the instructions in the description says to do.

      " \BendGame\Content\Paks " is a game install location

      eg: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Days Gone\BendGame\Content\Paks"

      " \BendGame\Saved\Paks " is the " USERNAME\appdata\local\ "  location

      eg: " C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\BendGame\Saved\Paks

So for this mod place it in the game install as it instructs to install to " \BendGame\Content\Paks "
