    A note - This is very much designed with the amazing HUD Toggle mod in mind from TheJanitor - https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/8

    I changed my .ini settings for that mod to these for gamepad use so that the HUD comes up only when aiming or holding down left trigger. I set the toggle key to holding the down button on the d-pad with a slight delay so that I wont turn on the flashlight by mistake (tap to turn on flashlight, hold to toggle HUD. Clicking-and-holding the right thumbstick will show the HUD and holding the X button (reload button) will bring up the HUD as well. This works especially well for opening car hoods and trunks. Holding Left bumper will bring up the HUD so you can do crafting and weapon switching with ease. Clicking-and-holding the left thumbstick will bring up HUD as well:

    [Key2]
    Key = XB_DPAD_DOWN
    x = 0
    type = toggle
    Delay = 200

    ; Hold to show weapon wheel for Xbox controller:

    [Key3]
    Key = XB_LEFT_TRIGGER
    x = 1
    type = hold
    Delay = 1

    [Key5]
    Key = XB_LEFT_THUMB
    x = 1
    type = hold
    Delay = 1

    [Key7]
    Key = XB_RIGHT_THUMB
    x = 1
    type = hold
    Delay = 1

    [Key8]
    Key = XB_LEFT_SHOULDER
    x = 1
    type = hold
    Delay = 1

    [Key6]
    Key = XB_X
    x = 1
    type = hold
    Delay = 100

    I'm sure all of these settings could be set in a similar manner for keyboard and mouse, I simply don't play with K&M so can't suggest settings. But you can just change the hotkey for whatever you use that corresponds to the most convenient controls for you. The idea is just to set as many keys as hotkeys to bring up the HUD on the "hold" type that are used in game as possible, so that you can always have the HUD up when you need it and let it automatically stay hidden when you don't during exploration and combat, like survival mode basically.

    If you don't use this mod, you may want to drastically shrink the letterbox so you can see other parts of your HUD more easily.

    Hello. I love your work here but is there a way to prevent the various numpad options from resetting every time I start up the game? It is annoying to have to turn off the black bars and such repeatedly.

      Hey, thanks so much! Yes, so there's two ways to go about it:

      1) If you want to be able to toggle the effects back on at some point but just want them off when you start your game, you can toggle off all of the effects in question and then in the lower half of the reshade menu change any numerical value and then change it back to what I have it set to. Anytime a value is changed, it saves the state of the effects that are currently toggled on and off as well.

      2) If you don't ever want to use a certain effect, you can delete the corresponding .fx file from the ReShade-Shaders\Shaders folder.

      Hope this helps!

    I thought I would like it to play the whole game with  ur Reshade But I think you really went overkill on the effects  and contrast (yes at first glance it can look better  but black levels went in the overkill direction aswell as other things like snowy mountains in distance  don't look as they should (like white is peaking if you know what I mean )
    But You really motivated me to make a Simple Color correction  Reshade version That don't  mess with the original graphics this much (just wanna remove the Filter)
    No disrespect just sharing my opinion.
    #I never used Lightroom again but its such a great tool   but I think values should be lighter for a 'realistic' preset (also for tonemap in my opinion especially if using brightness 3  in game But I guess different Monitors and calibrations play a big role in this too )
    Sorry if my text  is  a mess I almost never comment on anything xD

      Hey, I appreciate your feedback and comment.

      Did you give mine a try with cinematic lighting added with adaptive tonemap disabled (9 on the numberpad)? That should leave lighting just slightly more contrast than vanilla, realistically so, imo.

      Good luck with your preset, Lightroom is a really fantastic shader with powerful options, I agree :)

      Cheers,
      Merc

      Thanks so much! Please feel free to endorse if you like the work, it really helps with letting others know the ReShade presets are worth trying.

      Regarding HZD, it's not on my radar anytime soon, but maybe one day. It seems like a great game though, so one day, perhaps during the summer game drought.

      Cheers,
      Merc

    You need to be clearer about which FX packages to install.

      You can grab all of them except the legacy shaders. It doesn't have any performance impact to have them all installed. But sure, i'll double check which packages and update with exactly only the ones needed when I have time.
