Yeah, just not working. No clue what I might be doing wrong, followed the instructions and still zip.
Edit: Finally got it working and my issues were completely user error. If you're having issues, make sure you're dragging and dropping everything from the zip into the game folder itself (the root folder for DoW2 Retribution where the EXE is), leave the RealismMod folder ALONE and do not try to put it in any other folder; just the root.
If you're having issues with the shortcut, just right click the file location on the top of your windows explorer and hit 'copy address', go into the shortcut properties and replace everything inside Target " " with that address and the 'Start In' tab should have the same address WITHOUT \DOW2.exe at the end (so just the root game folder address).
hey so, i tried installing it and I had to change the shortcuts pathing to the game folder, which is fine, but whenever i open it i immediately get a relic crash splashscreen. i followed the install instructions on the .txt in the zip folder, so im not sure whats happening.
Hi there. Drat, its been so long since I touched this. Check and see if the modules are loading the required .sga files. Could be just one missed out that causes the crash. I recall not having any issues on my side, but its been too long. I should check it out one day, but this isn't my mod per say. I just uploaded here to preserve it. Apologies though. I can't promise when I'll get back to you. You can find me at the DOW2 modding discord. I'll be there.
Will there be an update that fixes the issue vonkillburn pointed out in the bugs? It's happening for the Imperial Guard's Guardsman Squad, and I'm not that great at modding, so I don't know how to implement the fix myself. This is in campaign, by the way.
To be very honest, I uploaded this mod to preserve it, that's my primary intent. For actual bug-fixing and to update it, that is something that I am personally not interested to do.
All the same, I'm happy to give this mod over to anyone who is interested to fix bugs and update it etc.
Is this usable with a different localisation's game ? Cause I can't find a way to make this works.
I use correctly the shortcut (i've just added the command in my shortcut location target)
i have copied the files to my "locale" localization folder, even tried copy/paste and renamed it to english, but it just crash at startup... Any instructions to try plz?
I use to recently played and modded DOW2 gold edition without problems btw
I've tested from my end, so the mod works as it should.
I suspect it has to do with the shortcut.
The shortcut in the zip file is targeting the default Steam folder location. eg: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dawn of War II - Retribution
Would your Steam folder be located in a non-default location? Its a custom location? If so, you will need to change your shortcut's location to your current Steam folder location.

Apologies if I do not update or maintain it. This is meant for preserving the mod.
I see this in the error report:
13:21:09.62 FILESYSTEM -- filepath failure, missing alias 'data:config\onlineconfig\badwords.lua'
Zzzz...
That said, I should one day return and doublecheck, perhaps rewrite the instructions.

I guess its more of a title gimmick, rather than actual realism, though it is a fun campaign mod!

v1.21
v1.23
v1.3 ( though I guess v1.31 makes that moot)
Because I wasn't really a fan of the new retinue system added in v1.3 (I was on the Relic Vault forum).
I don't have v1.24 tho
