Executable is not compatible for 32 bit systems, the game can be played but the mod NOT. -____- In case some one wants to have stack of items even beyond 999 simply modify your save profile, its easier, simply put in your inventory what you want to be infinite stack and then modify ( scrap / lumber / nails / ammo / even weapon inside ammo ), until someone makes an universal mod for the game.
I'm a bit confused how to edit those values. The way you describe it sounds like you are giving yourself items. I see the Inv items in the save file but those seem to be the counts. I'm trying to increase stack sizes for Holdout mod. I don't want free items, just need to increase max stack size. Is that even possible?
An even better solution would be to increase the slots in furniture items. At least that would feel more realistic.
Nevermind that, I found a better solution. I just searched for Wardrobe and increased the slot counts: 20 for large and 10 for small. Now to get my hoarding on!
With the history of this site (as well you not having very many mods), there is no freaking way on Earth I'm running some random exe on my PC. That is absolutely bonkers. I shouldn't be surprised people ran it anyway but I still am. I strongly advise you unpack it and upload it for manual installation that way. As it is, I won't be using it, as much as I want/need it.
This works on current Linux version (GOG, native 64) and can be patched from inside Linux (without any MS).
How I did it:
get the file and rename it to something short, like "CF999.exe"
create a new wine64 prefix(bottle), if you don't have it already, otherwise go into wine64 prefix in file manager.
inside root of wine64 prefix, create a symbolic link and point it to your Darkwood installation where "Darkwood.x86_64" lies. For GOG this is "darkwood/game".
move the file "CF999.exe" next to "Darkwood.x86_64".
click on that symbolic link, so that its your current directory and open a terminal from there, or just open the terminal and "cd" there via the symlink from prefix.
write in terminal "WINEPREFIX=/home/youruser/pathtoprefix/yourprefixname64 wine64 ./CF999.exe", it should open a window where you can patch. It creates backup files, so backing up is no really necessary.
Errors so far:
"ShellExecuteEx failed: Bad EXE format" means you execute 64bit mod .exe from wine32. You need to start if from wine64 prefix with wine64.
?"wine: failed to open "./Stack"" means you didn't rename the mod filename (1) to something simpler, it contains weird symbols, which shell doesn't like.
Problems: I notice that saving might take a bit longer than usual, but perhaps that was by chance. Except this - none.
Big respect to Clanfear for this mod. I would actually appreciate ability to build furniture from wood and nails to store stuff, but this works too! I am a hoarder and always remove carry weight limits, because I don't want to micromanage that at all, so I LOVE IT!

Would love to use this mod but with the last game update seems impossible.

Opening file .\Darkwood_Data\resources.assets [SUCCESS]
Opening assets [FAILURE]
i chose C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Darkwood to install into since that's where the exe file for the game is located.
thanks!
