This mod replaces the "Prayer" gesture with the "Rest" gesture. It's similar to the one in ds3. You sit down and idle until you roll/backstep.

Resting gesture This mod replaces the "Prayer" gesture with the "Rest" gesture. It's similar to the one in ds3. You sit down and idle until you roll/backstep. I might add a casual sit up animation later when something else is pressed. The place where you get the gesture hasn't changed so you'll get it at the usual place unless you cheat it in.
Drag the "chr" and "msg" folders into your dark souls directory and replace files,
Drag the "Texture Override" folder into your DSR Texture Packer & Unpacker folder and repack.
Some notes:
The msg folder only includes the menu.msgbnd file where only the "Prayer" gesture name was changed to "Rest".
The Texture Override folder only includes a texture where the prayer icon is replaced with that of the resting gesture. Though it's a bit out of place compared to the other icons so I'll have to get a more similar icon.
Forgot to mention you take 50% more damage if attacked while you're resting. Why? Because it makes sense.
