yes it will if you are online, just set game to offline before installing any mod, even skins which shouldnt be a problem, but to make sure just set game to offline
Mod isn't working Extracted the 70% and 95% mods into my root folder (replaced the original event and param folders) and now if I play the game the enemies are unkillable. Am I missing something?
root game folder is where your game exe is stored at to extract rar format, you need winrar, but it will cost some money cuz it's not free, mean while you can use 7zip which is completely free. Easy search for them on google
This is not PTDE, PTDE section on nexusmod is name "Dark Souls" https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls And yes, there is a similar thing but only one option that -70% damage taken https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/1787 I have never played PTDE or used that mod so I don't know how it work anyway.
I don't want to be that guy, but these type of mods are totally unnecessary. The grace of Dark Souls is how difficult it is, and that no matter how much you improve, you can improve more, if you die a lot it is not the fault of the game, you are doing something wrong, we have to teach people that they are doing things wrong and not reward them with this type of mods to say "yes, you are doing everything right"
uh... there is 3k people who needs this mod so its not really "totally unnecessary" other side, I just put it here, download it or not, its your choice, I didnt recommend anyone for touching this. so "stop being smart-ass" is what I told to the other guys who made similar comment as your you're welcome
Many of those people are people who died 3 times and they call the game difficult, and not people who really need it, I know a person who installed this game and died only 6 times and already started using cheats and installing this mods because " VERY DIFFICULT VERY DIFFICULT "
Man, please! Stop Stop Stop applying your opinions on the other persons
How How How do you know that "Many of those people are people who died 3 times and they call the game difficult"? You watched them from behind while they are playing the game?
- First, as I said, I just put it here. Using this mod is your own choice. I didnt and still not recommend anyone to install this. - Second, people buy the game by their money, so the way they play is their own will. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO JUDGE ANYONE HERE. (What will you do when you buy your phone but some strangers show up and tell you that you can not use your phone?) - Finally, this mod wont and will never worked in online mode. So using it aint affecting anyone or anything. Instead of wasting your time by telling your opinion which no one cares, go and tell this to most of idiots that use cheat engine table for hacking and doing mess in online mode.
You will only understand why do people install this mod when you are actually grown up. Don't you ask why criminals exist? Because life push them to do so.
Don't even bother with comments like this, if you have put the time and effort to do an easy mod for those who wont finish the game otherwise, you are a great person! There will be always those who want to tell everyone how to live their lifes, don't let them get into your head, thanks for the mod but trully, I'm trying not to use it, but its tempting :D
For a whole month I could not pass the first boss and needless to say that I did not try. All people have different levels of reaction and ability. It is absolutely stupid to judge everyone by yourself.
Don't judge others by your own standards. The grace of Dark Souls is it's beautifully designed world, the mysterious background and then very dynamic combat system, but all of this is actually spoiled by the difficulty level - that's my personal impression. I don't know how often I died fighting the capra demon because some aspects of the game seem to be designed not to be just hard, but to be unfair, so I actually lost interest in that game and it's only this mod that brought it back. Only because some people mastered DS(R) the hard way, they should not begrudge others their succes when they prefer a less frustrating, less stressful approach.
Maybe I don't want to struggle with every thing in the game and I wanna have a challenge but still be enjoyable? Maybe I don't want to have to plan how to attack even trash mobs in a game? Congrats on being "that guy"
it's just a game, dude. i just want to explore and experience the lore as i'm not big on combat games but don't want to miss out on games like this either... the nerve of being like "don't want to be that guy" but then immediately proceeding to be that guy lmao
Hmmm, I'm not sure that the "grace of dark souls is how difficult it is". I think it's how obtuse it is. The game doesn't teach you s*** outside the tutorial, and that includes game mechanics and world lore. You don't get a map and so, on a 1st playthru, you creep around every corner, shield up, because you the game will punish you if you're not paying attention. I think its fine if you want to enjoy the discovery and exploration aspect of the game but you're used to mechanically "easier" games. This mod is no different to the socially acceptable way to cheat at this game, which is looking up the wiki.
edit: And also, as the description points out, you still have to git gud at 30% damage reduction, and gravity is OP. It just makes the first 10 hours or so feel less like the game hates you.
i beg to differ. ive played every dark souls and havent gotten halfway through any of them. i understand the "git gud" players but damn let us babby casuals play
well you certainly are "that guy"....please stfu... you see something that's not for you, keep ur s*** opinion to urself and move along. most of us are just enjoying the game and have completed this s*** dozens of times in the past. i myself have finished every souls game min 4-5 times, and have 100% completed everyone of them, starting from first demons souls. that being said i'd never ask anyone to go thru all that nor do i want to, if they simply want to enjoy the souls games and atmosphere in a forgivable environment (so long as they don't bring this s*** online) i've even downloaded this for all 3 souls games and its just casual fun
Agree to disagree, I see where you are coming from, this game is hard and you are rewarded for making it through the hardest of challenges - that is the entire point of this game and its genre. But some people out there are handicapped, or are strapped for time, or are replaying the game and don't want to go through it all again if they are just playing for nostalgia.
The beauty of owning a PC is having the ability to truly customize your gaming experience. Modding games are hugely popular and it helps people in all circumstances to get the most out of their games. It is for this reason that criticisms are not generally welcome here, especially those criticisms that go against the entire reason why modding exists.
You're definitely THAT guy. lmao. The cultist fanbase of this game who worships it for its badge of difficulty (while simultaneously calling it not difficult) is real cringy, ffs. Never grow up.
Fromsoft doesnt even want the game to be like this, thats why they ban people who use mods and stuff. They want you to play the same game as everyone else, to level the playing field, I suck at Fromsoft games, so I adapt my strats and use cheese if absolutely necessary but using mods like this isnt, just make a giantdad build or sorcery and cheese the game if you want an "easy mode"
My man Zenman32 If modding is banned from Fromsoft then you should not be here in Dark Souls nexusmods section Before you trash talking about equality of gaming Look at top 20 files here in Dark Souls Remastered Having a good day, kid.
Hi! Its me a small (very small youtuber) that wants to play the game just to cross it on my list of games to play. IDC if this mod makes the game easy cuz I really need it. Im not mechanically as good as you and I don't really have the time to master the game cuz I still have real world life to be bothered with. Are you one of those people who sh*t on stuff cuz you just can? I better call you a DOG then. lol
i'm a tad late here, but nah you're completely wrong. for one, you can choose to download this or not. but more importantly, i don't really consider this game fair, at least not compared to something like, say, sekiro. ds1 has a lot of bullshit, and having to run back for 2 minutes just to attempt the boss again is not fun, it's not fair, it's bullshit
It is unnecessary lmao All the people who downloaded this mod are probably 10 year olds who bought dark souls and are now crying. I appreciate the developer of the mod for creating this but just play the game like you are meant to.
No mod is necessary. The fact you’re ridiculing the existence of a mod merely because you don’t want to use it shows you very much intend to be That Guy.
The difficulty is important, but for someone new or who has been away for awhile or just wants to test out early build designs to figure out what they like best, a difficulty adjusting mod is very useful. Like, you don’t want to find you’ve screwed yourself with your build because you didn’t know what was useful or how the mechanics worked until it was too late. That isn’t difficult, that’s just bad game design. Something From Software disappointingly didn’t figure out until Elden Ring with the inclusion of many mini-bosses, optional bosses, and easily available upgrade materials.
Yes, the difficulty of Dark Souls games makes a special flavor for the games, but personally I think it was handled wrong due to armor balancing. Namely, that armor makes only minor differences so every enemy hits like a truck while you hit like a scared rabbit. I wish From had made armor much more useful and balanced that by having mobs utilize a variety of weapons that your armor is vulnerable or resistant to and come in large, varied groups. Varied weapons and powers of bosses could also be capitalized on more this way. With players benefitting hugely from stocking up and exploring for pieces of armor and mixing and matching to cover the best they can for whatever strengths and weaknesses they learned the hard way an area or boss has.
Instead, Dark Souls’s difficulty mostly comes from everything hitting hard while you largely don’t outside of trash mobs (who also hit hard but are fragile and stupid). This form of difficulty is no different than in games many Dark Souls fans call out for using difficulty settings that merely alter health and damage amounts despite Dark Souls doing the same thing, merely locked on Nightmare difficulty.
I suppose that is part of why I prefer Dark Souls 2, along with feeling much less like a dungeon crawler or gauntlet like 1 and 3, respectively.
I agree. It’s nice of this modder to put in the effort and time to help his fellow fans progress. Hardly any different than using a player’s summoning sign and possibly can be used in lieu of that seeing as popularity dies off over time and that this mod doesn’t work in online mode.
Plus, this mod could be useful as practice. Just because it helps you not die doesn’t mean you don’t get used to how the enemy behaves and how to fight like you’re supposed to. It just means you can learn more before you die instead of playing a loading screen simulator and dealing with trash mobs you already mastered to get back to the challenge you were enjoying. Which is honestly just really, really annoying part of DS 1 and DS 3. At least in DS 2 you can kill all mobs in an area to stop them from respawning if you want. Maybe mobs respawning over time instead of immediately could let the devs respawn players more quickly and help us get back to where we were without getting bored with going through parts we already mastered.
No, From Soft bans people modding the online competitive gaming because that is cheating. They don’t care about modding offline. And if they don’t want difficulty changing mode, they should have relied on strengths and vulnerabilities of damage types for weapons and armor to balance difficulty instead of having everything hit like a truck while giving you a variety of water noodles outside of fighting trash mobs (who hit like cars instead of trucks).
Face it, From Software sucks and balancing difficulty in its souls games outside of Elden Ring. The other souls games are all too hard or too easy depending on whatever player is using it. For some people they’re hard, for some people they’re easy. A “level playing field” just means people whose minds are well-suited for the games excel while those who are not are annoyed and those whose minds are bad for it get frustrated that a game they purchased is shitting on them with no options to make the game playable for them. It’s not fair because there is no way to adjust for peoples’ talent or lack of talent. Which is what difficulty selections in games are meant to compensate for.
The armor and weapon focus I mentioned would have fixed this as it would enable tactics to overcome any challenge and players bad at tactics could just look up what to do instead of flailing around and failing at using a product they purchased with their money.
Simply cranking up mobs’ crunch numbers makes the game artificially harder and the only way to overcome it is to face-tank and return the favor or roll around a lot is poor game design. Heck, even the best advice to git gud is to look up a weapon, put stats into meeting its requirements, and from then on primarily dump souls into health, stamina, and equipment load so that you can dodge and face-tank better with weapon upgrades handling the bulk of your damage output enhancement. Kinda like how in Diablo II the advice is to dump points into health and let weapon upgrades handle damage.
It is, therefore, arguably not even a difficult game series, just that your enemies start out better prepared than you and you have to play catch up. At which point the mobs’ general stupidity makes them pretty easy to handle so long as their positioning isn’t a pain in the butt to deal with. Catching up, though, feels like a chore that quickly gets boring since it takes little time to get used to what to do to win: hint, it’s rolling around taking swings when you can just like every other part of the game.
Dark Souls is great for its story and its atmosphere and its bosses. The gameplay outside of most boss battles is usually pretty bad, boiling down to block and slash, face-tanking what you cannot safely block or gets through, and rolling around a lot. Or using magic or fire to basically skip fighting entirely. At least in DS 2 its animation locks enable you to manually avoid attacks and counter attack freely, no matter how much hard core fans complain about it at least that’s an extra tool to make fights more involved.
There’s also those who simply don’t think in ways that are good for souls games and so hit a wall. Now, Elden Ring and to a degree Dark Souls 2 have exploration or mechanics easily taken advantage of to overcome this. Dark Souls 1 and 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro do not.
I don't think there's anything in life you can teach me, that I haven't done before. Enforcing a personal vision on other people has absolutely nothing to do with grace. Insecurity is probably closer to the meaning you try to imply.
The rest of your arguments is silly, to say the least. I had my gaming period in the past were I was keen on sadomasochistic difficulty, but those times are long gone, and now I just want to enjoy the game for its dark sinister lore and appearance.
How about we play a difficult game that I'm really good at, and then dispute you to not question its grace, by criticizing my personal perception of a game? Lot to learn you still have young Padawan.
Thanks to the content creator. The mod is much welcome. I'm going with the 70% btw. If it still makes me smash my keyboard, I'll go with 95%.
Some people just wants to enjoy this game instead of dying 5000 times and rage quitting it. Just let people play the game how they want. Bruh, i totally hate there people, who wants to force their opinion above others.
It's not about doing everything right or wrong, when it comes to single player games, some people just want a good time with the game they love, to forget their real world problems for a bit, Souls Games used to do that for me, but as I'm growing older, I find myself more and more unable to put up with some BS boss killing me dozens of times, so what, I can't enjoy Dark Souls anymore because of that? Because I'm not willing to "git gud"? For me it was never about the difficulty anyway, I always played it for the aesthetics, lore and level design, so I say that if there's someone willing to craft an more aproachable experience for me to enjoy the world of Lordran/Drangleic/Lothric/Lands Between, I'm taking it for now on, I'm done with Souls's difficulty, Elden Ring was the last one for me.
Well you are wrong! I played this game for almost 60 hours and I hadn't gotten very far. It's a very difficult and unfair game. You die and have to start all over for the slightest mistakes. Some of us are grown ups and we don't have enough time to spend on this kind of game without wasting hours upon hours. I hated this game with a passion and I quit it. Same for Elden ring I got 110 hours and I couldn't finish the game or even come close. Same for Dark souls 3. So your example is proven false by me and others. Instead of talking s#*!, learn to respect others.
Thank you for the creator of this mod. I FINALLY could explore the game to my heart's content without wasting hours not having any fun and just being frustrated. It's not my kind of fun. There are thousands like me. Thank you for this mod.
Then dont play it. Not every game is meant for you. The fun of Dark Souls is overcoming challenges. If you're going to whine about muh being an adult and muh not having enough time, stop playing video games.
hehe, this Masterofallz kid is right If you can't take responsibility after getting someone pregnant, run away and leave them alone. If you can't find a job, then stop looking for a job, go rob a bank instead. "If that game wasn't made for you, then don't play" such a thing that kid have in his mind. The game is made for anyone to play. Not just made for some specific persons. Is this new kind of "racism" in gaming? What kind of idiot that advise someone to stop playing a game just because "Not every game is meant for you", you will refund their money back? Do you pay for their games? Their money, their choice. Grow up, kid.
You and every other souls diehard blind fanboy is in the wrong place. If you are here, means you want the mod, if not, then go away. Simple as that. Nobody cares for elitist opinions. This page is for mods. Deal with it and go away if you don't want the mods. I repeat, if you and any other diehard tryhard fanboy don't like the mod, go away where people care for what you say.
Oh thank you, thank you, thank you. With this mod, Dark Souls is now the best game I’ve never played. As you mentioned in your description, I still die because I must be a poor player, but I live a fantastic game experience. ( Too bad there is no easy mod for Nioh I gave up because too difficult for me)
