FIX FOR THE Checking 0 files for repacking Repacked 0 textures in 0 files! ERROR!
The author instructs to set Override Directory to the Texture Override folder so that the program can repack everything at once. This however is what's causing the error! All the files equal to almost 8GB total and for many users the DSR Texture Packer cannot handle such load. Instead what you need to do is to set Override Directory to 1 mod file and repack it. Then repeat this process for rest of the files. Each file alone is barely above 2GB and the DSR Texture Packer can handle that without any issues.
To make it absolutely clear to everyone, put all files in the Texture Override folder as you normally would. However only repack 1 file at a time, not all of them. For example we first set Override Directory to "\Texture Override\Maps Part 01-220-1-0-1587470011". We repack this file. Then we set it to "\Texture Override\Maps Part 02-220-1-0-1587471408". Repeat this process for "Objects NPCs and Enemies" and "Update File".
Don't know who the sticky is for but my guess is that it refers to an old version of the mod and therefore should be removed. There are no 2GB files anymore when you extract the texture mod, there are 47 folders and 2285 files in the map folder alone and you can't install any of them alone. This mod doesn't work anyway, a waste of space and download time.
hey man some people just don't get this s#*! even watched a video and it left my brain spinning that's why i use vortex would like a vortex download for this and for people in this comment room it might be easy for you doesn't mean its easy for the next or some just plain don't get it don't think cause you understand every one else should have some respect for crying out out loud and stop with the rude ass comments so stay off my post if your that ass hole I'm not having it thank you
download mod download repacker mod extract each file to its own folder (right click, 7zip, extract to maps 01) move all 4 files into the repacker/texture override file run the repacker set top location to dark souls remastered in steam file set bottom location to repacker tool file / texture override file Select one file at a time, maps 01. Repack file Repeat for other 3, maps 02, objects, update Play game.
oh god, mod management software fanboyism in this comment section as well - go back to rubbing MO2 or whatever against your private bits and begone from this forum forever.
I tried using the stickied post's method and it gave me an error about unpacked 0 files. It only worked after I set the Override Directory to the Texture Override folder, the exact opposite of the stickied post.
Can't I just download the files and drop files into Vortex to make it work. I have the mods enabled on Vortex but I don't know if it even works that way.
No, you'll need to follow the install instructions to make this work. To my knowledge no souls game is going to work with vortex, they all require some form of manual installation or use of Mod Engine.
