hey dude i got the error: FDP_System_Message(401208) and can't enter the game in online mode and i can't load my savegames due to that.

I made the installation with Mod Engine:

    1. Extracted Mod Engine files (dinput8.dll & modengine.ini) to Dark Souls 3/Game folder
    2. Created a "mod" folder in the same directory
    3. Extracted the content from "parts" folder to the "mod" folder

Did i make a mistake there, or do you know why i can't load my savegames? I'd be very thankful if you could help me with that issue, because i want to continue my first walkthrough ofc :)

Blocking online mode and using separate save files are features of Mod Engine, they have nothing to do with this mod. You can disable them at your own risk, read the instructions for Mod Engine. From what I've heard, UXM is safer for online play, but don't quote me on that.

The only mistake you made is putting the weapon files directly into the mod folder. If I remember correctly, they have to stay inside the parts folder, otherwise Mod Engine won't recognize them. That's the reason I put that folder in the archive. So mod/parts/*weapon files*.

yea i extracted the whole 'parts' folder to 'mod' on my first attempt, but it didn't work either.. i'll try with UXM then, ty for your reply and of course for your great effort in creating this mod! <3

I can't guarantee it, but it should be. It's a most basic file swap mod which simply deletes a few gameplaywise irrelevant models. I didn't notice anything different when I tested summoning with it. But it baffles me why so many players are hung up about the online safety of Dark Souls mods. If you're that worried about getting banned, create a family sharing account and try it for yourself. If Fromsoft doesn't allow that either, and instantly bans you for using such harmless mods, then transferring to the banned server might actually be preferable to being a slave to a lame-ass company with garbage anti-cheat.

Hey, buddy :D I used it for some hours and no ban. But Steam prompted a reinstall of the game (idk if that's related to the mod). Reinstalled it and the mod is gone, and no ban either. Funny thing that the ripping done by UXM are still there.

Anyway, its an awesome mod! I will reinstall it later and see what happens. Thanks!

I doubt the reinstall prompt is related to this mod or even UXM, I never had that. In my experience, even if you verify the integrity of local files with Steam, it just redownloads and replaces any files it deems corrupted, like the ones you modified. It also ignores files that are not part of the vanilla game, which is why the UXM extracted files are still there. You can just patch the exe again to load those files instead of the vanilla archives, you don't even need to extract them again. In case something did go wrong with those extracted files, run 'Restore' with UXM to delete them, then unpack and patch again.

For those of you who don't use mod manager, you dont need it, but you will need UXM to patch the game.

Installation= Open UXM, put your Darksoulslll.exe file into the "executable path". Click unpack, once unpacked MAKE SURE to click "patch" on UXM menu. Close UXM, go to your DS3 root folder, you should see a new folder called "parts" (make a backup of this folder just in case you want to revert). Unzip the "no scabbards" mod, open the folder containing the DCX files, copy those DCX files and drag them into your DS3 "parts" folder and select "overwrite files". That's it, you're done.

I'm surprised at the need for red letters. Did you have trouble making it work? All of those things are covered front and center on UXM's page. But making instructions foolproof is not necessarily a bad thing, so thanks! ;)

How exactly did you manage to detach the scabbard flvers?

      1. Extract the archive with Yabber
      2. Delete the file ending with _1.flver
      3. Repack the files with Yabber

UXM is now under Sekiro mods, download it from there. Unpack the game with it, and replace the weapon files you want in the newly created parts folder.

Is this compatible with the newest Cinders mod?

This mod is a tiny and purely cosmetic edit to the default weapon files, so it should be compatible with other mods. Obviously, if a mod replaces the same weapon files as this mod does, you have to decide which files you want. Feel free to experiment, nothing is irreversible.
