continuing to roll through the fixes for my mods, this one actually didn't need it too badly, since it only really seemed to have the dull color problem on the back of the shield, but i fixed it anyways. No new screenshots though since it only changed the back of the shield that nobody cares about.

this is probably a dumb question, but how did you export the dds so the shield wasn't severely under-saturated in color? I've tried every exporting type available to me and yet it's always either broken, or the colors are bleached.

I've never really had a problem like that while exporting textures, but what one thing i can tell you is that sometimes items have their color spread out between their color maps and their shininess maps, to a point where sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference. Changing only one will sometimes have very little change in game. There was also a bug with IGP11 when i left for vacation where the color maps would show up really bright when overridden in game, and had to be darkened manually, I don't know if this still happens. Probably not though because I would have to update all my mods for that and nobody has said anything yet for any of my mods

My secret recipe for that (using GIMP) is to darken the image completely 4 times using brightness/contrast tool, and then increase saturation by 100% twice with hue/saturation tool. That will bring it to almost exactly the same brightness as the normal textures when overridden

Well I'd like to revise my previous statement, apparently the shiny maps are also having some brightness issues and need to be altered as well, which means the color maps do not need to be altered as much. I was wondering why my textures seemed just a LIIITTLE bit off...

My new findings are that for both the shiny maps AND the color maps, you need to use the brightness/contrast tool, turn brightness down once completely, then use the tool again, this time turning brightness down by 50, and contrast up by 10. I'm going to work on bringing this fix to the mods I've made that need it.
