Something I very much enjoyed about the old Unofficial Patch mod was the massive list of useful catalysts for different builds.
For instance, the archdeacon staff was a hexer's staff with dual faith/int scaling, which was nice for pyro builds, but the heretic staff was better for pure int hexers. Likewise, the Izalith staff could cast pyromancies and was an int staff. Heck, the mod even made it to where the Man-grub staff scaled with luck.
Stuff like that was great, reason to use anything other than, Izalith staff, Sage's staff, or other top tier catalysts. I think some changes like that would be cool to look into.
Afaik man grub staff scale with luck in vanilla, never used it so I don't know how well it fares however. But yeah more spell casting tool diversity wouldn't hurt. I'll look into it.
Something that has always annoys me when it comes to staffs is the immolation tinder. It pisses me off so much that it at least isn't an intelligence scaling pyromancy staff for int builds. It's such an awesome looking weapon, if only it wasnt so useless.
