hey OP, we got big news, OrdinaryLunatic found a way to alter blood specular values! He posted it on the forums replying to a suggestion I posted on the forums. Here's his post:
"I just found a way to change the Color. I already posted it on the "Persistent Blood Splatter Removal" comment page. I just write it again here. You need to change it in the Data0.bdt file using Yapped. In the "DecalParam" there are a lot of rows related to blood. When you click on them there are somewhere 3 fields to change the Diffuse color values and 3 more for the specular too. I just changed everything that had blood in the name to the same red, because lazy me. But ingame my PC and enemies where now all covered in red.
Before, i always thought it is supposed to be mud and was wondering why changing the values for mud in the WetAspectParam (which is also possible btw) didn't do anything lol. Well, now i know better.
ya I hope this helps."
Looking through it myself, I can understand why he got lazy, there's a LOT of entries related to blood, but through trial and error, you can probably find the entries relating to the game's blood decals that apply to the character and terrain, and alter them to look more like Bloodborne's shiny blood. If you can find it, you can probably use the pus of man's blood decals as a reference, since I noticed in the forum post he responded to, that the pus of man's blood has the correct shiny specular, but has a pitch black diffuse. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQ7-r-mUcAAAGPp?format=jpg&name=large
I'm probably going to keep investigating, myself, but I want to spread the word cuz I know other people are better modders than me, and hopefully someone else can hit paydirt before I can.
it's much better edit decal params insteed of igp mod, but.. 95% mods using data0.bdt, cinders, ascended.. just all. Will be good to make decalparams to another file which don't have a conflict with data0.bdt, any idea? :(
Hey there, amazing work on the mod, it looks fantastic!
I have a small issue however. I'm running the mod and installed it correctly, as far as I know. However enemy characters don't seem to have been changed from vanilla. My character's blood is much brighter, for sure, however I can hardly notice a difference on the enemy, at least not to the extent of the screenshots you posted.
I installed the textures in the Texture Override folder and ran iGP11 in Override mode, so I'm not sure if I've done something wrong or what have you. It's the first mod I've installed, so I might have done something I shouldn't have.
Thanks again for the mod, I hope I can get it working correctly!
Edit:
Well that was short lived; I'll update just in case anyone else has the issue, but simply reinstalling the mod seemed to work fine. Enemy blood's still a bit darker, as the author mentioned, but it's far brighter than vanilla and looks much better. Good stuff!
The blood is a bit red but looks nothing like the images And the blood on armour is still ugly black I have used texture mods before, I have no idea why this is not working for me
Hey, the player character's blood is supposed to be fresher than the undead's thus a bit red. But this mod should make all the undead bleed crimson blood just as shown in the screenshots. It's been a while since I last worked on any mod, as I'm far from professional, or even half-amateur, I have to apologize for not having much better suggestion other than please try again and follow the installation guide of iGP11 closely.
Mod Installed! iGP11 was kinda confusing at first but, I've now got blood that doesn't look like oil! Kinda looks like the blood from Bioshock or something, very cool! Endorsed!
And so far, no issues with being softbanned, but I have a backup save just in case.

Edit: I mean, what should I edit in Yapped?

12/10, instant install for me!
Thanks for the feedback, as I have been quite afraid to use my own mod to play the game in fear of being banned. lol
