    Awesome mod! Fixes one of my only issues with the lighting in this game.

    Hi! The mod looks great. One question tho. I'm using the Better Torch + No Player Light mod, this one https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/1711?tab=files

    I noticed that the mod I mentioned above uses the same file this mod uses. So, is there a way I can merge the files? I'd really like to use both mods :(

    Does anyone know if it's safe to play online? I really liked this mod, it makes the characters more beautiful.

      Hi, from what I can see, the current merge only works with CoA versions from 2.1 and up to 2.3.2. But you can merge it yourself with Yabber, it should fairly simple: just unpack the "frpg_sfxbnd_commoneffects_effect.ffxbnd.dcx" from the CoA and replace the f000000300.fxr file with the one from this mod's main archive, then repack it back.

      Sorry, I can't update the merge myself at the moment.

      Hi, I might not remember all the details, but here's the general gist of what you could do:

      • Unpack the vanilla sfx/frpg_sfxbnd_commoneffects_effect.ffxbnd.dcx with Yabber and find the f000000300.fxr inside the unpacked tree;
      • Grab the f000000300.fxr from this mod;
      • Compare the two files for their differences either with a text editor or with the "Dantelion FXR3 Editor" (see link at the bottom of the description)
      • The two files should only differ in 2 sets of 3 values each: one is the RGB color of the light, and the other is the XYZ position offset from the player center;
      • Figure out which one is which by "trial and error" or an "educated guess", modify the position value to what you want it to be;
      • Repack with Yabber. Have fun.

    Nice mod!
    Is it compatible with the latest Champion's Ashes (2.2.1)?

      Hi, thanks, I took a quick look at the diff between 2.1 and 2.2.1, and it seems like it didn't change the relevant file, so yes, the merge for 2.1-2.1.1 should be fully compatible with 2.2.1.

    Would this get me softbanned if I tried using it online?

      Well, if you repacked manually and did not use ModEngine, previously, you would likely not have been softbanned as this doesn't affect regulation files (don't take my words as a fact, though). But after the last patch I'm pretty sure nobody knows what's safe and what isn't. As always with these kinds of questions, you're welcome to try but the risk is on you.

    This helped me find the same sfx for Elden ring too. Thanks for sharing.

    This looks amazing! I knew it. Now my characters look exactly as in the character creation menu. So much better! Thank you.

    I have a question. Do you think it's possible to remove the ground glow of the character? (The artificial light surrounding the player in dark areas.)

      This ground glow you're referring to comes from the same source as the character light/face light. You can remove it, yes, and you'd think that this would make the lighting even more "natural", but it sorta happens to have the opposite effect on characters. You can see this in this screenshot.

      There's a "No Character Light" file in the optional files section, if you want to play around with it.

    Weird question, but could this be impacting performance when done through UXM? My game started stuttering recently and I'm trying to find the culprit

      This mod itself couldn't be, it just edits a couple of values. But loading all game files loosely via UXM patch might actually induce some IO overhead on slower hard drives. If you don't need all the unpacked game archives (i.e. not making mods yourself), then use ModEngine for mod installation.
