By the way, if you save your textures as .dds files, they're less prone to the hitching during loading you mentioned. For me, your Aldia floor texture has this hitching when you enter the keep from the first bonfire, but when I save it as a .dds file it does not.
DDS loses quality, making textures not high-res. Is the only issue with that. Since GeDoSaTo can't read TGA, it is best to do PNG if you want the quality from large textures. DSII DDS only reads at 8bit. Only reason they load quick, cause they're so highly compressed and destroyed.
Yep, dds is much better than png. No noticeable loss in quality and way less hitching and loading stutter. Also dds files are easier to work with, especially when it comes to transparencies and normal maps.
