Would love it if I could use this for SotFS. Just started a new game on there, playing as Guts. At least the Greatsword mod got a port to SotFS, but Dark Crypt Blacksword was my intended main weapon later in the game.
Hey, I know it's not your problem or anything but I am absolutely dying to use this texture mod, but no texture mods at all are working for me via GeDoSaTo, do you have any idea what the issue could involve? I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right.
1. Make sure you have the textures in the proper directory. My gedosato folder is inside my Dark Souls II folder (but it doesn't have to be). Dark Souls II-Game-GeDoSaTo-textures-DarkSoulsII-override The folders in yellow are the important ones. I had to manually add the Dark Souls II and override folders so just in case you haven't done that you should or your textures won't work.
2. Make sure gedosato is activated before you start the game. I'm pretty sure it has to be run in administrator mode too.
3. make sure that in your gedosato.ini the following setting is set to true...
# Override game textures loaded using d3dx with those from # textures[gamename]override[hash].(dds|png), if available enableTextureOverride true
4. Double check to make sure DarkSoulsII is listed in the "whitelist.txt". It should be automatically there but just be sure.
If you've done all of those things there's no real reason your textures shouldn't show up. Although i talked to someone who had to re-install gedosato to get it working. So idk, if what i listed doesn't work then i'm at a loss.
WyvernCutless is correct. you can't swap models like in Skyrim. The best i can do is try to edit the bump map to add pieces like the arched part above the handle. But i'm not sure it would come even close to being adequate.
I did not know that So without the ability to add models you can only replace certain textures of items in the game but not the shape? I was really looking forward to have this awesome sword one day...
Just got through a few pvp matches with this skin and both the bloody and normal version are awesome my only suggestions for it is possible bumpmaps for the cloth on the handle
It's got them already, i didn't touch the handle other than recoloring it. Do you want a different handle texture or just something more pronounced?
I'll see what i can do. though.
Edit: I enhanced the normal a bit so it seems a tiny bit deeper and i added a little bit of the shine back and it really helped. When i update the file (after i find the final two 64x256 textures i need) i will surely add the updated normals. I'll also try a different handle texture to see if it looks better as well.
I really wish i knew why gedosato doesn't dump every texture when it's supposed to. I literally have to dump the textures 10-20 times before i can get a full set. It's annoying....
As far as dumping goes I recommend starting a dump, loading in to your save, and equipping the items whose textures you want to get. Then you delete everything in your dump folder and equip the weapon. It should immediately re-dump only the textures from the menu and the weapon that you equip. It should give you everything. At least that much has worked for me.
Yeah, i usually do that but it always seems to take 10-20 times to get all of the smaller textures to dump. The large and medium ones usually come right away but those small ones are real pains.
Hope you guys and gals like it. I did this very quickly so if you have any suggestions on any tweaks or improvements i should make to this then leave a comment.

Edit:
There is a port to SotFS!
