Hello. Could you please tell me which rows and fields you modified within the LockTargetParam? I would like to change the regulation file by myself using Smithbox.
in smithbox the row name is called LockTargetParam Theres three fields and their default values are Ordinary 1.0 Short 0.5 Long 2.0
What I did was multiply the values by x5, meaning 5 times the normal lock on distance Ordinary 5.0 Short 2.5 Long 10.0
Now I can lock on to targets hella far. This simple change makes long range builds viable, like bows, magic crossbows and such. Its weird tho because none of the other fromsoft game has this param but Dark Souls 2 does. I wish the others did. Had to use cheat engine to increase the lock on range in Dark Souls 3 and 1 because I could not locate a param for target lock and there was no mods for lock on range for those games.
Very informative, thank you. This will make it easier to cast spells at far away enemies without using the binoculars trick. Yea I have never seen that Param in their other games, that's why I was so curious about it.
Sorry for not noticing your comment before, NovaAlt. I'm glad someone could answer your question. As for the other souls, I know Dark Souls 3 Cinders mod has increased lock-on distance, but I can't really figure out how it was done, maybe it's not something done through params anymore? I looked into it as well, failing miserably!
But gosh, Dark souls 2's base lock-on distance truly is atrocious!
Good afternoon! The mod is great, but I would like to ask a question. I do not use "Load Loose Param Files", I repackage all files myself using "Yabber". Is there a way to make your mod work in this case? When I just packed it into "enc_regulation.bnd.dcx" as usual, it stopped working and the distance returned to its previous value. P.S. I apologize for my English, I use a translator. UPD: Everything worked after the second attempt. I'm confused. Anyway, thanks again!
