I know what I'm about to ask would be a great undertaking, but would you be willing to make a merchant that sells every item in the game like the honest merchant mod in Dark Souls 1?
That would be an interesting mod, but if I end up doing it, then it's going to be in the future... I don't feel like getting every single item into a shop at the moment. 😅
Hey sorry to bother you! I'm not super familiar with DS2 modding but i'm really interested in giving an NPC all items mostly for the armor lol. What exactly is "DSMS" if you don't mind me asking.
In the description I list the tools used for the mod. DSMapStudio (DSMS) is a map, param and text editor for many of the souls games. If you're interested in modding I recommend checking the Souls Modding wiki to learn more. http://soulsmodding.wikidot.com/
I actually wonder what would be the point to spend a set amount of souls to get an item that gives you LESS souls than what you spent. It's not convenient in the slightest
@MoonlightRuin @Zethras Unlike souls, the Ring of Life occupies a ring slot, which is quite important, and it also requires a significant amount of souls for repairs. Using soul consumables virtually eliminates the risk of losing souls upon death. Similar to the coin pouches in Sekiro, by investing in these consumables, you can ensure that you never lose a substantial amount of souls when you die, with only a minimal to no cost in souls.
I was just wondering why you'd ever use ring of life in terms of balance then, or if there are other changes planned for it.
The ring costs way less to repair in the OG version of DSII, so I guess that if I could make a change for balancing, it would be to reduce the repair cost. But hey, I get it you know? That mod itself is broken just by giving you this amazing option to secure your souls, the Ring of Life being unnecessary in a specific situation is the least of concerns here. But think about it, if you're doing a "no talk run", the ring suddenly becomes amazing, don't you think? (joking).

This mod was actually made as a result of a tutorial I made on how to make custom merchants, so if you're interested, here's the video.
