It seems the latest update has broken area loading, as the forest of fallen giants isnt loading after the pull switch door. I've verified game files and reinstalled the mod multiple times, and still broken.
No, the world doesnt load, there's no ground or walls, just nothing. Betwixt, Majula, Heide all show just fine, but everything past the gate into the forest doesnt load in.
smh, that is really strange, it never happened once, and now just began out of nowhere...
ill try to fix this, but most likely it will increase a lot of the file size of the fixes file
edit: maybe i have a better idea, ill just post how my Ds2 DS-Like folder is, add it as a new update to the 6.7gb file, and bam, that will be the final mod update and ill have the chance to add everything i forgot to do in the mod, plus, it will most likely 99% not cause bugs like these thanks to these files working fine for me
edit 2: there! new update posted, def wont post any other because of how long it takes to upload and now everything that I wanted to add now being added, I am quite sure that now there isnt almost any empty, useless room in the game anymore, those now having a story to tell
i, uh... dont recommend using a cracked copy because it might cause issues, the mod was made with a steam copy and made with it in mind only, so using the mod with it might cause issues
was your ds2 steam copy sotfs or vanilla? if latter, then it will cause issues because the mod is made for sotfs only
It was SOTFS, and with no other mods alongside yours. It's stange because I tried loading the mod without the fixes and everything seemed fine but the problems started occuring after adding the fixes.
do you know when it not began loading? like, the little sewer area is part of the heide map, so the map is loaded, what exactly did *not* load from the area?
the only change that i remember doing to heide was taking off the textures of those png sunken buildings, thats all, and even still, the area loads fine for me
The area started to not load just after the chest where you get the Crimson Parma, so yeah the sewer area. All of the textures were gone, as well as the skybox when I got outside the tunnel. There were only the models of buildings and the enemies. The problem only seems to occur on Heide's Tower of Flame tho, all of the other areas are mostly fine from what I've seen.
Are we supposed to install Seekers of Fire First then install your awesome mod? Or is Seekers of Fire Included? Please let me know as I really want to try this.
what i said is that i couldnt have done the changes done to the mod without Seeker of Fire, im pretty much thanking the creator for making it and telling to check it out, bc its pretty good
if you want a mod which changes the entirety of the game from the point of even progression, then get seeker of fire, my overhaul mod is just a "refined" version of sotfs as i would call it

when it says to Drag all the files from the mod folder to the Game Folder does this also include the exe file within the mod folder because I tried that before it says that it "The code execution cannot proceed because steam_api64.dll was not found. Resintalling the program may fix this problem" and without the exe file the mod doesn't work
got the mod working, however, I should mention that the door to the Ruin Sentinels is bugged, it doesn't give me the option to open it and the other way to progress has a locked door

either way, it is strange that the door is bugged. its the metal door, yes? if so, then i took it out on this most recent update, the one that came right after this message, and see if you can get to the vacant guards fine
i didnt manage to discover where the ring buff values are, *however*, ill just change its location to somewhere else, perhaps altar of amana, so that it becomes an endgame item
most *recent* changes i did were minor to item descriptions, but major changes were to enemy placement, fixing bugs of the vanilla sotfs in areas and so on

second, are you using a cracked ds2? (yes, its needed to drag the .exe)
No wonder it wasn't working.
Oh and no on the cracked version,I own both versions on steam, I installing it on the wrong version.
i really recommend just getting the scholar version of ds2, its the one most recent mods need now
