hey! I don't know if you are still interested in transferring this mod to SOFTS or not, but anyways I found the mod right here: "https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls2/mods/948?tab=description" actually transfer it to SOFTS, and if you don't know how to install it just check the description of this mod, and that's it!
So, I did finally find out how to make this Work on DS2 SotFS, I will explain but it was pretty hard and tedious.
-Install iGP11
-put the Executable path and select the DarkSoulsII.exe
-Now go to Textures in the "Game Profile Settings" section and select "Dumping Mode", Open the game and start a game, then close. At this point the Folder "IGP11" Should be created in the Game Directory
NOW, this is the hard part, since I had to Find 1 by 1 the textures to replace the name of each other and then convert them via iGP11, it seems that the game changed some things where reduced some things and the name of the textures changed. I will make it easier for you and I will upload it to Mediafire to let you download it renamed and with other 2 unnecessary files deleted. https://www.mediafire.com/file/fo58m1c2io2ig64/Fixed_Dragonslayer_Greatsword.7z/file (IDK if this will work, maybe every texture have different names for everyone, if thats the case, this file won't help you)
If you want to do it manually you will have to download a "DDS file thumbnail viewer" to make it easier to identify the textures to change the names, I used "SageThumbs" and "DDS Viewer" for that. I won't lie, it was really tedious and it seems that there are 2 textures that aren't necessary since they are not in the "Dumping" folder. When you identify the texture, copy the name and paste it to the new texture, check the resolution and the details, it will be hard and tedious.
-Go to "Texture Management" and in the "Source Directory" select the Folder with the new files renamed. Now, in the "Destination Directory" Select a Folder or Create a new one where you want the converted textures to be. Click on "Check All" and then click on "Convert Textures".
-Go to the converted textures, (should be on the folder you created/selected on the Destination Directory), Copy and Paste them in the Dark Souls 2 Directory/Game/iGP11/tex_override.
-Go again to "Textures" in the "Game Profile Settings" section, and now put "Override Mode", launch the game and DONE
Maybe there's an easier way but, I never used iGP11 or any mods for DS2 so, sorry if I'm not explaining it well + my bad english.
Quick tip for anyone reading this; if you have installed IGP11 correctly(look up an installation guide if you are stuck), all you need to do is go into the "IGP11" folder in your DS2 game directory, go to "tex_override" and paste in the .dds files from the mod.
Does this mod work on DS2 Sotfs using the iGP11 Tool ? Because Sotfs cannot be modded with the current version of gedosato and I can't wait anymore to play as Guts.
so I went through all the steps to get GeDoSaTo to work. I disabled secure boot, downloaded it, updated it, turned that one thing onto "true" and made the files in the correct order for these textures.
but for some reason whenever I run das2 it crashes. is it because its sotfs?
Hello man, i will try be specific in a description about the problem i'm having... i'm not fluent in english, i'm braziliam, i speak portuguese... but, let's go... some days ago the mod was working perfect, it's beautiful see the greatsword linking dragon slayer of the guts, but after i stop gaming DS2 some days i return to play the game and came across with the problem... the game is buging some shadows, like SSAO in game (but i desatived the option in the game and not resolve the problem) the game is catching and very demanding on the video card, 99%, when the normal is about 40%... i desative gedosat and the game runs perfect, i ative gedosat and the game is catching... when i move the cam, the shadows and reflections of light came with the camera for a moment like a bug... what i should to do?
The only time i have ever trouble with gedosato is when i've tried downsampling. But i'm not sure why you'd be having problems. I would try re-installing gedosato.
I know that this is kinda an old mod, but do you work on Dks 1 mods? If you do, would you be willing to turn the great lord greatsword into a dragonslayer?
I have the blade done. Hopefully i can get the rest done quickly. I'll try to finish it tomorrow but it's gonna be 1000 degrees here tomorrow and i may not be able to focus enough.
I did you one better. I just uploaded a new file that contains the black handle and the updated speculars. It'll be much less annoying than swapping textures.
I dunno what can be, but I'm not able to make the Dragonslayer texture work. I did pretty much everything you instructed to do, yet the Greatsword still has the vanilla texture.
The GeDoSaTo should be working like this: http://www.image-share.com/ijpg-2588-194.html Right?
I do have two harddrives... and DS2 is installed in one while GeDoSaTo is in the other. Does that have anything to do with it?
1. Make sure you have the textures in the proper directory. My gedosato folder is inside my Dark Souls II folder (but it doesn't have to be). Dark Souls II-Game-GeDoSaTo-textures-DarkSoulsII-override The folders in yellow are the important ones. I had to manually add the Dark Souls II and override folders so just in case you haven't done that you should or your textures won't work.
2. Make sure gedosato is activated before you start the game. It has to be run in administrator mode too.
3. make sure that in your gedosato.ini the following setting is set to true...
# Override game textures loaded using d3dx with those from # textures[gamename]override[hash].(dds|png), if available enableTextureOverride true
4. Double check to make sure DarkSoulsII is listed in the "whitelist.txt". It should be automatically there but just be sure.
If you've done all of those things there's no real reason your textures shouldn't show up. Although i talked to someone who had to re-install gedosato to get it working. So idk, if what i listed doesn't work then i'm at a loss.
It's working now. I tried first with the Nexus Mod Manager and it created some folder inside folders screwing up the order. I just put them where they were supposed to be and voila.
Thanks for the quick reply My character looks totally beast now.

That's it.
WARNING!!! THESE TEXTURES DO NOT WORK WITH THE DX11 VERSION OF THE GAME. THEY WILL NOT WORK UNTIL GEDOSATO IS UPDATED TO BE DX11 COMPATIBLE.

So it'll be done soon, but idk exactly when.
