Hi, im new to modding pretty much anything. The mod isnt working, the increased durability mod also isnt working. i installed the param and enc_regulation.bnd.dcx from load loose param into the original game and then overwrote the files in that new param file with the mod files but it isnt working. Im playing a pirated version and using igp11 to use "Converted mod pack from GeDoSaTo to IGP11" and "Bloody Gore Souls" and UXM to use "Dark Souls 2 Easy Mode" as well but those are working absolutely fine. Pls help. If I need to send screenshots, a discord would allow me to share them. Also ive made sure to go to the majula mansion basement chest and only found a soul vessel
There's really no way to know for sure because nobody really knows what From Software's anti-cheat looks for. In theory it should be safe because these are legitimate items that were already in the game's files (this mod only adds a way to obtain them). However, four of these items were only legitimately obtainable in the original Dark Souls 2, not Scholar of the First Sin, and three of them were never obtainable in either game. But since they were all intended to be obtainable I would guess that they are all flagged as legitimate items in both games. I can't say for sure though, so you'll have to decide if you want to take the risk.
Eventually, yes. But doing so will require me to do an entire play-through of the game again so that I can manually select which treasures would be good fits for each weapon.
Sorry if I'm asking something obvious, but do you know if it is possible to put the jump effect of the butterfly wing/skirt on another piece of armor or remove the poison AOE from the original?. I don't want to impose or anything, I mostly want to know if it is feasible to even attempt.
Would it be possible to "time" the chest so that these items only become accessible in the late-game, or perhaps even just shunted off to NG+? This is an excellent content restoration mod by the way, just one of those little things that would keep the unlocks from unbalancing the start. Well, I suppose the game's already pretty unbalanced after all the enemy placement changes in SOTFS, am I right folks?
Since I don't know of a way to modify the event scripts for Dark Souls 2, I cannot script the chest to only be open after a certain point of progress in the game. I would like to add more options for how to obtain the weapons though, such as distributing them throughout the game. They could either be added as treasures/drops in places that seem fitting, or be added to the same drop tables as the standard weapons (so an enemy that has a chance to drop a longsword would also have a chance to drop the unique longsword as well).
Ahh, were you inspired by the IllusoryWall video on YouTube? You seem to have recreated the whole experience here, of finding them IN the Majula chest. Very cool!
Yep. I saw that video and wanted to make a mod to restore the content. IllusoryWall wanted to try to get From Software to re-run the events, but there's no way they're going to do that this many years after the game has been out. A mod is the only way to really experience this content again.
Quick question... If i already open the Majula chest and then i install the mod.. the chest will be closed again or i got to start a new run? i started to play the whole game again with some friends and just yesterday i opened the chest and i really don't want to play a whole new run again just for the weapons heh
You'd have to start a new save file to open the chest again. I only modified the existing drop table for the chest, so if you've already opened it then it will remain opened.
I definitely wouldn't go online with the mod installed. You can uninstall the mod once you have the weapons, however. I can't say for sure whether or not it would be safe though. These are legitimate weapons that are in the game, but there was never a legitimate way to obtain them in Scholar of the First Sin. Four of the seven weapons were obtainable in the original Dark Souls II for a very limited amount of time, but three of them were never obtainable in either game.
If I had to guess I would say they are probably safe because, as I said, they are legitimate weapons, not weapons that were modded in (I only added them to the drop table for the chest). Since From Software intended for these to be used for promotional events, and therefor actually be obtainable, I would guess that they are safe to use. I can't be 100% certain of that, however, because the people at From Software are the only ones who know what the anti-cheat checks for.
If you are going to use them online then, as I said before, I would recommend uninstalling the mod first. You'll still have the weapons after the mod is uninstalled. You won't want to have the "Load Loose Param Files" mod installed either. Make sure you revert back to 100% vanilla files.
