About this mod

(SotFS only) There are seven unique weapon skins that were never made obtainable in Scholar of the First Sin. Four of these skins were made available for a very limited amount of time in the original Dark Souls II during promotions for the DLCs, and three more were created for the same purpose but were never used. This mod restores all of them.

There are seven unique weapon skins that were never made obtainable in Scholar of the First Sin. Four of these skins were made available for a very limited amount of time in the original Dark Souls II during promotions for the DLCs, and three more were created for the same purpose but were never used. This mod restores all seven of these unique weapons so that they can be obtained in any play-through of the game.

During the limited time that these weapons were available they would have been obtained from the metal chest found underneath the mansion in Majula. This is where you will find them in this mod as well. There are two options available for you to choose from:

  • One Random Weapon: With this option you will only receive one uniquely-textured weapon from the chest. This will be completely random and the other six will not be obtainable during that play-through. This option best simulates how the events were when each of them was active. Only one weapon would have been available at a time, and it was intended to be a surprise to the player.

  • All Seven Weapons: With this option you will receive all seven uniquely-textured weapons from the chest. It might be a little unbalanced to receive so many weapons all at once, and so early in the game, but this option will allow you to collect all of the weapons on a single character without having to play through New Game Plus several times.

Note: Since the game does not allow a randomized drop to be combined with a guaranteed drop, I had to remove the Soul Vessel that is normally found in that metal chest. To compensate for this I have added a Soul Vessel to the chest upstairs in the house in Things Betwixt.

Unique weapon skins:
Spoiler:
Show
  • Murakumo: Has a light blue cloth wrapped around its hilt instead of orange. Dark grey blade.
  • Blacksteel Katana: Has a bright white hilt instead of a black hilt. Slightly brighter blade.
  • Longsword: Has a bluish-greenish blade, similar to the Moonlight Greatsword. Darker hilt.
  • Great Club: Top half is covered in blood. Lighter-colored wood texture.
  • Rapier: Completely black and shiny.
  • Greataxe: Completely gold.
  • Caestus: Almost completely red with black studs instead of brown with goldish studs.

Optional Features (English only)

I also have an option to restore the message on the back of the monument in Majula. In the original Dark Souls II the message on this monument was changed to give a hint to the locations of each DLC for a short time after each one's release. Now the monument just says: "The letters on are worn beyond recognition."

Due to limitations with the game, I had to combine the three DLC location messages into one and change the "Seek the land of an ancient king" line that was in each of the three messages. Otherwise these message remain just as they were originally in the game. The message on the monument will now be:

Seek ancient kings
In the Black Gulch, deep below
Past the Iron Keep, upon a sea of flame
Sealed away, at the Shrine of Winter

Note: This mod is only compatible with the Scholar of the First Sin edition of the game.

1) Download and install the Load Loose Param Files mod.
2) Download this mod, extract the downloaded .zip archive, and open the folder of the extracted archive.
3) Move the Param folder to your game's installation directory (where DarkSoulsII.exe is), overwriting the original files.

You may want to make a backup of the Param folder first, in case you want to uninstall the mod later.

Warning: Using any mods while online will likely trigger the game's anti-cheat system. I highly recommend preventing the game from connecting to the online servers while playing with any mods installed.
