i've installed and it keeps the 30 frames, and my screen is bugged, the hud still normal but all the other things are in 1/4 of the screen, in the left top side, anyone know what happened and how to fix it?

If you have an Nvidia card and your texture override setting doesn't seem to work, try this! I found this solution on the Steam forums (originally posted by Saiyra).

"DSFix can be made to work on modern Nvidia driver versions by disabling DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for the game's EXE in Windows' settings.

You can find the relevant setting in:

Control Panel -> System and Security -> System -> Advanced System Settings (sidebar) -> Advanced -> Performance -> Data Execution Prevention

Manually add the game's executable (Steam Directory\steamapps\common\Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition\DATA\DARKSOULS.exe) to the whitelist, and hit OK. Then reboot.

After doing that, DSFix will function fine."

So there are 136 pages in this thread which is a lot to dig through. I'm getting my Important message text cut off (I.E. Ring of sacrifice shattered, Consumed by the abyss, etc.) And don't see anything in the ini that might be causing that?

Is it just my own omnipresent hallucinations or is DDS faster in enableTextureOverride=1 than PNG?
(technically dds is #1 tex format for d3d)
    Anyone else done comparisons?
(like changing a lot in -one- area, like lava for less bloom, and counting the Load-Lag when getting near it)

is there any way to enable Vsync ? i have bad tearing even nvidia control panel did not fix it

That's a side effect of DSFix that apparently affects some people more than others. Playing it in borderless window is your best bet to reduce tearing. This here thing  is pretty good for that, it was unplayable for me with vsync and this did the trick.

If anyone's interested... I tested the jump at Firelink Shrine when getting back to Undead Asylum: 60 fps - constant fail; 55 fps - fail; 50 fps - success (barely). I now limit the game to 45 fps. It's better than 30 and avoids most of the problems present at 60.

I'm not going to pay money for a glorified patch.
