This mod is an eyeball lifesaver, thank you deeply from 2023!! (necro comments go away plz)
I also had install issues, here are the two main steps that worked for me.
Install the files directly into your dark souls/dsfix/tex_override folder, without the subfolder from the .zip file.
Edit the DSfix.ini file in the dark souls directory (without this it ignores the files we just installed) Scroll down to near the end and change enableTextureOverride from 0 to 1 (just edit the number only)
Save the file, launch the game, enjoy how chill Izalith is now as you mow down those half T-rexes =)
if you still care for an answer you need to only use the .dds files and transfer those to the texture override folder instead of transferring the folder the .dds files come in, i didn't understand either until i experimented and got the intended result anyways hoped that helped.
I still get micro stutters and on places like Catacumbs or Undead Parish nothing like the full lock i would get with the other version, GPU usage is sitting at 70% most of the time so i don't know why this happens also have tried removing it and it fixed it

Not this one, or the png version. I have put the texture override to one like it was mention.
Anyone who have the same issue ?
PS : Other mod like "Andres cranial ember" or "High-Res UI and subtile font" work.
